@Ash Roskell The USA does have an unimaginably large amount of money within it, but the USA also has some of the worst income inequality in the world. The amount of money is huge enough that most people don’t feel poor, but that doesn’t make the inequality go away.

@Don’t SSleep : I estimate the hardcore trump zombies (The Collective) at about 50 to 60 million. A lot to be sure, but, not an insurmountable number. They are highly motivated, as would be expected in a collective (think a large nest of hornets or yellow jackets). Their marching orders come from trump and trump TV. Not much room for individual thinking.

I’d like them to clarify: was the map showing only the people who worked in that plant every day, typically not going far from home, or did it include the truckers who stopped in to pick up a load and then went all over the region making deliveries?
I suspect you’re correct about the truck drivers. I believe Tyson has it’s own fleet.
Those distribution workers aren’t any notably less likely to catch this thing. These are not contactless, stay-in-the-truck loads and unloads. They are, however, among the people _most_ likely to spread this to new areas and other distribution networks. Because they’re among the very few people actually “traveling” these days.
There should be ‘contact tracing’. What is effective in CIVILISED nations who are managing to control the virus.
Why would that matter? The effect is the same.
@omi god It matters immensely, because without knowing _what_ causes an effect, it cannot reliably be mitigated or remedied. We’re not looking for scapegoats here, but to identify and understand the mechanics and patterns. This so that we can formulate and deploy precision means of mitigation, that can reliably work as intended, without disrupting the whole operation and industry any more than actually neccessary.
These kinds om measures are almost always intrusive and costly (both directly and indirectly), so we don’t wanna use broad, blunt tools and means unless we have no other safe and reliable options. And when we have to apply them from a lack of safe and effective alternatives, theur application needs to be rapidly adjusted as we learn more and aquire better tools.
Some times we might learn that those are actually the most appropriate tools and means for the job, but in the vast majority of cases, a sledgehammer is really not the most appropriate tool for the job. Without understanding the actual working mechanics, but instead going off varying degrees of supported assumptions, there’s also a significant chance that even big, wide-reaching blunt tools might not actually work (as to the intended purpose).
Everyone is ‘Regular People’ no matter how much money, houses, and cars they own.
