Nearly two weeks after Daniel Penny used a fatal chokehold to restrain a man on the floor of a New York City subway car, the 24-year-old will face criminal charges, prosecutors said.
Penny will be arrested and charged for killing Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old Black man experiencing homelessness and mental health problems after he had been shouting on board the subway. The white U.S. Marine Corps veteran will face a charge of secondary manslaughter, which could carry a jail term of up to 15 years.

Lock Petty up and throw away the key
Tom Petty?!?!
when a military member kills a civilian
?? He was just some random veteran.
He murdered someone. It was not self defense.
Took far too long.
Those upset about this are the same people that called for community policing. Now that the community policed itself, they are upset. Also, I find ironic that many folks are okay when a baby is cutout of a womb and killed, but are appalled when a criminal is killed.
Excellent news. He’s a former Marine; he knew exactly what he was doing.
Skin color
he was taking out the trash
The guy was still alive when he was put in the recovery position
@John Anderson idk. Your still breathing.
SELF DEFENSE
One less career criminal in our screwed up country.
The animals win again. Never help anyone again. Let the fith deal with themselves.
He did not choke him to death. The scumbag was alive. This is a travesty done to placate the imbeciles in our society.
The video I saw shows only that Neely was in a choke hold, and that other passengers were also trying to restrain him. Unless these other passengers were in on attacking him for no reason, or Neely was out of control and posing a danger to those riding with him. A choke hold is used by the police, and many other people to gain control quickly.I did not see if anyone started CPR, or not; but clearly he must have been a danger for them to join together to stop him. If it had been the marine as an aggressor, the others would have been trying to stop him , and free Neely.
Kind of feels like this is saying to the citizens of newyork city, your not allowed to protect yourself and other passengers from someone thats having a mental episode. Didnt all the passengers on the train all give the same statement that they were scared for their lives. That he was being aggressive. Also didnt his aunt blame the city for not helping him or getting him the treatment he needed during the dozen or so times police interacted with him. Then again isnt it the same Da that charged a hispanic shop owner with murder for killing and stabbing while he was being attacked. Good luck nyc.
This is not at all a case of self defense. This is a case of oppertunistic vigalante cloaked murder.
Choked watchers will you go to heaven? Ever lie, steal, used God’s name as a curse word (O-M-G)? Still think your good? According to God’s law, you’re guilty. Wait, God loves you, he made a way out. God so loved the world that he gave his son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Jesus died for you, believe & repent.
Where’s blm for the black cop who died in Chicago
Good. The marine had MORE than enough training and strength to restrain the man and not kill him. He intended to take a life. The only time a human being has the right to take another life is when theirs is endangered. Not their egos. Not a false sense of endangered. Gun pointed at the face endangered. Just dodged a blade stab endangered.
