Legendary Montreal Canadiens player Henri Richard dead at 84

Richard played 1,256 games with the Habs from 1955 to 1975. Throughout his career, he earned 11 Stanley Cups, the most ever won by a player.

  1. Very sad news for all Montreal Canadiens fans. There was no quit in Henri Richard — his stamina and work ethic were legendary. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Richard Family.

  2. No one will ever touch his record, most players don’t even have one, but 11 cups as a player? That immediately puts you in the conversation for GOAT in my book. RIP Henri, from a lifelong Rangers fan – one of the toughest to ever play 😟

  3. Dave Stubbs! He called my dad yesterday to ask my dad if he remembers his first shutout-game as Dave knew it was that anniversary.

  5. A fantastic player who played for the habs I remember seeing him on tv back in late 60s sad to hear is passed away ,truly a hockey great
