“I don’t usually write letters saying the First Amendment does NOT apply. This was a situation in which I—and all these other scholars and professors—thought that it was ‘frivolous’ to maintain that the First Amendment protected President Trump with respect to his impeachment, and with respect to the facts of this case,” says legendary First Amendment attorney Floyd Abrams. ‘Legally frivolous:’ Famed Free Speech Attorney Floyd Abrams On Trump Defense | All In | MSNBC
Out of all the illegal crap he Has done- Nothing has been done about it! Not a dang thing. Stop talking and do something. Now half of the Republican Party is still carrying on the same BS.. and following Q- tired of politicians and your BS!
Right nothing is happening to those people who stated the riot in fack they get to go a vacation and get special food in jail so freaking frustrating 😑
maybe his advisors advised him to incite like miller kushner and djtj
“I’ll be walking with you!”
Except if I have to join the US military. In that case, I have bone spurs.
If it’s on my way to McDonald’s.
Cowards don’t lead from the front.
@B. T. LOL
@David Jimenez
Yeah the get out of service letter written by one of his father’s tenants who was renting a Pharmacy from Fred, yet another example of the cowardice shown by the privileged “ chosen bum” from Manhattan.
Trump: “I simply exercised my 1st amendment right to shamelessly spread lies and propaganda, and to incite an insurrection on the Capitol, for the purposes of overturning our democracy.”
Good tone. Agree.
I cant even use the first amendment argument in a FB dispute. Nor can I say I was just joking. So that excuse is dead in the water. Next please
We all know the senate republicans are going to wilfully ignore 144 constitutional lawyers.
Yeah because they are bottkickers and spineless twats
@G d its over half a million now
@G d Pretty sure his first mention of “herd mentality” was in about September or October, 6 months after he called the virus a Democrat hoax. They did a study on the spread of the virus with the intention of formulating a plan to deal with it. When they saw it was spreading areas that were mostly Democrat the plan was scrapped and it became murder by covid (I’m sitting here pretty disgusted at what I’ve just typed out).
Google “Jared Covid testing plan”
Republicans are traitors.
In the end, none of the Republican senates would convict Trump. GOP put party above this country.
So many republicans are at odds with reality. Mediocrity be damned! 🤣
They’ve gerrymandered the election districts and ran pretty successful voter suppression campaigns. They know their seats are pretty much untouchable and just *do not care* about the country, just how much they can screw it for and how much they can screw it up. Republicans account for roughly 35% of the population and they always seem to get the majority, tell me that’s not rigged.
That is quite the amicus brief. The House managers should be able to make quite a bit of hay with it.
Same reason you can’t yell “Fire” in a crowded theatre. Not rocket science folks. GUILTY!
https://youtu.be/NEflJFXUXA0 6
Gees – after all said and done the guy is guilty as sin!! GOP senators – do your job-uphold the constitution and your oath to office – you can’t ignore the evidence – impeach him and let America get on with fixing all the problems he created.
He is guilty. Any other verdict would be proof of how stupid the USA actually is.
Or how corrupt and biased it is
Well the USA is very stupid cause he’s not going to get convicted period. No matter what he says or do
The Republican Senators are inviting him to extort them for the next four years, of course they are stupid.
@Sassy Carter This is more likely the sad truth of the USA right now. Decades of neglecting the educational system in this country has produced the ethical, moral, and societal bankruptcy seen in several generations of citizens here.
I agree 👍🏼
Even a president cannot yell “Fire!” in a crowded theater.
@Stan Lee he would do that and escape in the other direction. Which is exactly what he did, watching from the safety of the White House.
@Stan Lee trump said Kansas City Chief won the super bowl. All his followers are celebrating to the news.
@Stan Lee And he would lock the door on his way out.
@JETWTF exactly right.
Freedom of speech does not include the right: To incite actions that would harm others (e.g., “[S]hout[ing] ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.”).
Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47 (1919).
Thank You.
“Legally frivolous” is a good, sound assessment of the Defense’s argument!! Thank You.

Can’t wait to see the clown impeachment trial to expose all criminal activities of the clown then it’s DOJ job to convict the clown justice matters@#
I pray Trump will get everything he deserves. #psychopathnarcissist
idionarcissopath…..
“I’ll be walking with you.” unless my bone spurs return.
good one
brilliantly said, ty both. hopefully, the letter will be presented during the trial!
GQP must obey oath to uphold Constitution or suffer consequences
CONVICT DT
At the very least they need to bar him from being able to hold any government position again.
We can’t have the nightmare returning after President Biden.
