FOLLOW UP: The Grenada government announced late Sunday that it was withdrawing a controversial bill that sought to keep a state of emergency in place for at least a year. The bill was to have been brought before parliament on Wednesday.
In a late afternoon release through the GIS, the Keith Mitchell administration stated: "Government accepts responsibility for not ensuring that the public had a full explanation of the Bill, before attempting to take it to Parliament, and therefore commits to improving the process."
