    1. @playnite FREEDOM and LIBERTY. That’s “what’s up”. what’s up with you, bootlicker? gimme the latest propaganda from your television…

    2. @Moe Zura you are free to be as stupid as you like dude. I don’t give a f… I’m not even American I’m just f..kinh around

    3. @Moe Zura you dont watch tv? Wow you must be really smart, wiki ain’t perfect either

    4. @Ayeyafukinayeassa George wisdom begins when you switch off your TV (or don’t have one to begin with)… why would you INVITE government propaganda (disguised as “information” and “entertainment”) into your homes?

  1. This is the type of reporting that deserves to be seen, Truth!! More humanity and compassion!!

    1. It is so funny how the Q-trumplicans are so indoctrinated by fox to call everything they don’t like “fake news”. Yet they can’t point out even one thing that is not true. It’s pathetic.

    2. @Samuel Levitch when they call it fake or whatever , because it is true . Only illogical ignorant bigots will deny what Lawrence said today not the rest of the world.

    1. @Mathy Don – Alexander looked like Egyptians… or similar. There was no absolute differences.
Like I said… it’s different if a stranger comes to fight your family… than your family fighting your family… and you know it.

    2. @Mathy Don – notice their color? PEOPLE FROM WARMER CLIMATE TEND TO BE DARKER!
Shove your stupid logic straight up that ***!

    3. @Mathy Don – the people that Genghis conquered are called, what?
They are called EXACTLY WHERE THEY REMAINED!
      Egyptians. Chinese. Japanese. etc.
Do I need to explain any further?
It seems that this one was too tough for you to manage… being as all of the evidence & proof or example was on my side.
Better luck on your next lie?

    4. @Paul Ramos the Ryukyu were Ryukyuans then Japan took their land and forced them to speak Japanese. What are you talking about? Spain took Mexico from the natives and created a whole new people and culture. Alexander the Great wiped out the Druvidian people and culture not by violence but by marriage. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?!?

    5. @Moe Zura Yet you’re here watching after getting into your feelings like a high-school girl. You’re a S.P.E.C.I.A.L one.

  2. I love how European explorers “discovered” countries that happened to be full of local citizens at the time.

    1. @Bubbalicious Amyah
Sure thing. I don’t see the link between who produced maps and the rights of the existing citizens of lands that were deemed to be suddenly ‘discovered’ by others.

    2. “depopulated” is the word i like the most. It’s connotation hits the hardest for me. Words like slaughter or capture or conquest don’t quite capture the nature of despair that depopulated does.

  3. Excellent. Now let’s talk about how we ruined the rest of the Central American countries that come to the U.S. for relief.

    1. Many don’t know, and many refuse to acknowledge the crimes committed against other nations by America. America is the one that ruined those Latin American countries economies and created the problem that they pretend not to know anything about.

  4. I’ve never gotten angry or upset at a people for trying to better themselves. I was raised in the cotton and grape fields in the San Joaquin valley and I worked along side these people. They are peoples who wake up every morning with the goal of feeding their children, the same as you and I. I get upset with the industrial complex that we are, using and abusing people as a commodity. We can do better than this….we are better than this.

    1. The real hate comes because these people work harder and often for less. They are called “lazy” because they are far from lazy. Red hats always project when they call names.

    2. I would like to think so, but I do know that an awful lot of the hardest working people I know are immigrants.

    3. Yes we CAN be better. For starters, let’s not refer to undocumented immigrants as “these people” or “illegal aliens.”

  5. You mean, like in the movie, “Red River”, when John Wayne took out his revolver and murdered the representative of the Mexican owner of the land he was visiting because he had decided he liked it and wanted it and left the other guy alive so he could go back and tell his boss: I’m taking all the land North of the river. Are you saying that maybe that WASN’T a great thing to do? Amazing. There may be some hope for America yet.
Although we don’t actually know who it is from, it’s still worth remembering the famous quote, “America is great because she is good. When she ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.”

    1. @Anthony Holmes No, Homeless, I am far from hopeless. I still believe we can nudge our way toward a more perfect Union, even with hate-filled people like you running around the China shop. (You are a Russian troll, right?)

    2. From UK: Who are you? Sorry a vampire ghoul or a republican slug probably, he’s no sherlock that’s for sure….

    3. Perhaps we should focus on “making America good again.” Thankfully, it sounds like Biden is taking a much better approach to border relations than Trump.

  6. That felt like truth so true, we might actually be able to start having real conversation about this country. Thank you for telling the whole story💖

  7. Sometimes there a brilliant pieces of reporting that shine like gems. This is one of them. Lawrence and also Rachel are something!!!👌👌

    1. Yes Lawrence and Rachel are the ones that I go to if I want to get actual useful information. I think they are fantastic at what they do.

    2. I so much agree with you people! This peice of reporting is spectacularly good! And the truth it expresses was completely unknown to me until now. What an amazing peice of insight! My whole view of the issue has grown so much! I can see he is entirely right.

How can you make a judgement on an issue if you don’t know the history? But that’s what the Retrumplicants always do. Rush in with their prejudiced, overly simplistic, self serving, and wrong ideas of what is needed. They have always been overly simplistic and dumbed down on all the issues.

Yes, Rachel Maddow too is excellent at providing insightful explanations of the history of the issues, expanding my understanding of what really happened. Thank goodness for these two!

  8. As someone who lives in El Paso, Texas; I Thank You for making such important, basic; and valid points about the border and about Republican mentality on how to deal with immigration. At some point we must acknowledge that most people are actually refugees fleeing from situations the U.S. has had a large part in creating.

    1. There is a reason why were known as the world’s “meeting pot.” Unless someone is Native American, then we are all immigrants. Some came in style, some risked their lives to come here, and others came in chains with many dying before they could arrive here – but we are all part of the culture that makes America.

    2. ALL of the MONSTERS and ENEMIES of the USA were created by the ARROGANCE AND IGNORANCE of the leaders at that time. Most (if NOT ALL) of the problems that central America suffers from is direct/indirect interference of the USA to control and subjugate them into been a 3rd market countries of (and for) the USA

Either by Xenophobia, Ignorance and specially AROGANCE the USA has created many of the situations that could have easily been avoided or minimize. In essence the USA is NOT the land of DEMOCRACY its the LAND of IMPERIALISM disguise as a DEMOCRACY (same way Communism and Socialism is a disguise for dictatorship’s and autocracies)

    1. I’m always amazed at their tactic of accusing everyone else of doing what they are doing. “Joe Biden is anti science!” “Dr Fauci, aren’t masks just theater?” “No Senator, if you follow the science…” “That’s what I thought! All theater! Case closed, goal, score & checkmate libs!”

    2. @nicholas schoonbeck Yes, they’ve been doing that since at least dubya’s 9/11 inside job induced reign of terror, and using the “lost freedoms/lost country/beware the invading enemy” fearmongering tactic as well. A page from the Nazi playbook.

“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.”
      — Herman Goering in an interview while awaiting his Nuremberg trials

    1. Incredible how many people in the USA do not know their own History or Geography. Lots of ignorant people in this country. SMH……

    2. Spain stole Mexico from the Aztecs… the Aztecs the three total pre-Spanish states fought with each other and took land from each other all the time. The Muslims took Constantinople and made it Istanbul, China is comprised of over 50 unique ethnic groups that once held their own land, Okinawa used to be its own country called Ryukyu before Japan annexed it in 1935, the Ainu people controlled Hokkaido until Japan annexed it in the ~1860’s …guys- this is how humans work. For UN members we all kind of agreed to stop doing it but the UN has only been around for the past 65 years or so, even then Russia took Crimea and the whole Israeli and Arab thing I’ve given up on. So, California and Texas were part of another country BEFORE it stopped being OK to just take territory.

    3. Great how it never mentioned the internecine genocide that permanently governed how the Native tribes treated each other.
The USA has done well because of the people who moved there and made it do well.

    4. …james s… the Fetal Alcohol Effect’ers that landed in the Colonies* 1600’s——… and they procreated.
England France Spain and others needed their usual lands of the PeasantsSerfsSlaves to the land of the Drunk n Free. Tossed thousands and thousands of unwanted orphans to Australia Canada and the Colonies. Considering the Children/kids walking here requesting asylum, they aren’t fae’s. That would be a great improvement over the 50million fae’s who voted for the Reality Show ‘administration’ that was 2016-2020. 9. No efforts at the southern border will ever be successful until America addresses its original sin. America will never be great—EVER—until it ends systemic and government sanctioned white supremacy.

  10. Yes as a Native American, Mexican American born in the USA all I can say is what my grandparents used to say. We didn’t cross the border; the border crossed us.

    1. @Nana Anna This phrase has so much more weight and meaning when it comes from people like your grandma. I’m sure her words are filled with wisdom and depth. This segment was one of the most insightful ones I have seen in a long time.

    2. this whole “incite”/”insight” was – by far – the loveliest exchange on SM I’ve read in a long time.
thank you both (Nana and עמנואל) for this.

    3. @Nana Anna Apologies for my typo. Thankyou for sharing their history. It is so important to bear witness.

Yes I can believed that, I got victory with him was so sad after receiving the first pay knowing I invested so low with fear😓😫.
