This story would have benefited by showing that it is far from oahu, where most tourists come, a map of Big Island that shows highway and size of eruption perspective, and distances from Kona or Hilo….
She was acting like it was in Hilo. Big island is far from Oahu. You’re right. Most tourist don’t do there. Big Island itself is pretty big. It has 3 volcanoes. Most eruptions are far south and not near any cities. And happen regularly. So yes, she was trippin.
Started the year off with a great bang in the Pacific Ocean (Tonga). Ending it with a river of fire spewing out it’s toxic gas…amazing

10-15 yrs ago i sent my idea to prevent Valcano from erpuin. it is really easy. when the lava is boiling underneath before eruption, dig a hole on the side of the mountain and drain those gases and collect and sell those gases and pay for the digging a hole and encasing a large bore tubing. it can prevent the valcno fprm erupting.
