Cops have to be held to at least the same standard as civilians if not higher or they lose the moral authority to enforce any standard. Law enforcement agents and all Officials are to deal with and treat each individual regardless of their race, gender, culture, religious affiliation, criminal background by the oath they choose to take to do their job. They are not the judge and jury, they have enough to do by upholding the law itself. There is a reason why JUSTICE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLIND. It is also to make sure even criminals are treated like human beings even if they victimize others. Our court system is setup to give a fair hearing and then render and carry out judgment/ sentencing. If those who have sworn to uphold the Law flagrantly break the law then they become no better than those they have sworn to bring to justice for breaking the law. If what you say is true about George (not Georgia) Floyd that still does not Justify Mr Chauvin using an Illegal hold for almost nine minutes on someone who was accused, not tried but accused of a crime that we don’t know has been proven to be true or false. Again there is still zero Justification for what was done to him, that is why we have a system setup to determine guilt or innocence. I would like to think if you were accused of something rightly or by Mistake you wouldn’t want a knee on your neck for almost 9 minutes until its figured out.
