  1. This car seat in PPV just shows the level of how poorly the parliamentarians are thinking.😂😂😂😂😂 DUNCE is not only people who can’t read.

    1. We need to seriously protest some of the new traffic laws and demand they go back to the drawing board.

    2. Bevon do you think they dont know what they are doing? They bloody well knows, They just want to pressure us the poorer class people in our Country, kmt this is too much for us.

    3. @R.I.M.B they are just trying to get revenue from the poorer people of Jamaica at all cost. The wealthy persons can afford car seat and family vehicles but the poor ones who can barely afford taxi are the ones been exploited

  2. This is madness how can they be exempt when they are apart of the transportation system…this is going to get killed in court because this is monopoly and it’s not right..make the playing field level for all

  3. Obviously they are not going to want to take the children. So the taxis that Carrie’s school children they have to get quite a few car seats.

    1. Mi say them don’t think before they make laws. One full bunch of idiots or thieves come up with this idea. It’s either to make money or they are educated fools.

  4. Taxi drivers not responsible for that plus a parent not going to walk with car seats if the have multiple children under 12

  5. This man is fighting against taxieman hard.we need to take back Jamaica 🇯🇲 from these people. This man is the devil 👿 right hand.he was one of who god chase out of heaven.

    1. Taxi man makes things bad for dem selves, I have no pity for any of you. Stop breaking the law and endangering people with unu disregard for the law.

    2. @R. Walcott shut up and go learn some English bout dem selves…you are one of them why we are in this position..

  6. IT IS TIME FOR US TO TAKE TO THE STREETS IN PROTEST!!!!!ENOUGH IS ENOUGH AND JUTC SHOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT BE EXEMPT BECAUSE THEY ARE PUBLIC PASSENGER VEHICLES.

    1. All taxi vehicles should be exempted and the limit age for child seat is 10 so how them come up with 12. Bunch a dunce head criminal them be.

    2. Wonder what was going through their heads thinking this stupid law was going to be made without protest , who tell them Jamaica want no uber we want taxi ,so when them do this they will come in with Uber , dem have private car can carry fi dem children to school so all dem a think bout a dem self , this and other things dem do a straight dictator style dem better go back to the drawing board

  7. Why don’t the government provide schools bus? even though these taxi drivers need to fallow the rools ,this one just doesn’t seem right, how many car seats should one vehicle carry to accommodate more than one child.

  8. I am a fierce advocate for seatbelt wearing, but to subject public passenger vehicles to this law is absurd and unrealistic! We want our children safe but our system is not designed to facilitate it at the moment.

It is almost criminal to subject these taxi/bus operators to a law that is nearly impossible to abide by! 1st world countries do not even make mandatory seatbelt situations for children on airplanes.

Back to the drawing board, government! Provide the financial backing for them to purchase the restraints!

    1. MOST parents with cars not even have it, a really PPV dem expect fi have it? Shows just how disconnected those who came up with this are from the average citizen in our society.

    2. My questions are, where do they propose these seats be stored when not being used?
Why children under 12? By age six, most of them are adequately enough restrained in regular seat belts. I could understand if they’re requiring all passengers be restrained with seat belts, but what they’ve implemented is senseless and practicality hasn’t been applied to their thought process.

    3. The bill said that all public and private vehicles must have a booster sheet. I don’t think its practical for Jamaican taxis to do so. This will be drafted and adjusted like many countries. USA, Europe and Asian nations have some laws addressing the same topic, with varying approaches to child booster sheets in taxis.

  9. The government must abide by that rule before pushing it down to smallest passenger vehicles, let them start with the buses n them the people will fallow their example

  10. I have 2 car seats in my car and only one small person can fit at the back with the seats in there. It’s a camry. How the taxi men will make money? What about the taxis that only operate to transport kids to and from school

  11. Don’t blame the taxi operators for refusing to take children…. let the government put buses in all the schools to transport them…

  12. This was clearly not thought out and it further process how far removed from reality the government officials who decided to pass this law are. So what if the person has multiple children under 12 are the taxi men supposed to provide for all three and now those children will be charged per seat.

    1. Also if the JUTC is exempt from the rules then provide buses for the schools then so these young children won’t have to take taxis then. I am for car seats for private vehicles even though I never was in a car seat growing up but I see the need for it now.

  13. Whoever made that law was drunk at the time …cant make rules that can’t be followed🤷🏽‍♂️
