I was on the jury as an alternate and just got let go yesterday. Given the evidence we had 4.1 million sounds reasonable.

@notsure ifsrs That defeats the whole purpose of punitive damages!!! Punitive damages are supposed to be awarded in an amount sufficient to prevent the same party or another party from doing the same. There should be absolutely no cap on what it takes to properly punish an individual, as that number can vary widely, based on their income and net worth.
That jury failed. The correct amount Jones should be ordered to pay is $151M. And he should absolutely be charged with/convicted of perjury and serve the maximum jail sentence.

That’s not even close to enough. I expected the jury to recommend more than what was asked of them. Hopefully the punitive damages will be gigantic (well over the $150 million dollars asked for).
Also, I hope Jones spends time in jail for the other criminal charges (e.g. Perjury).

Another 45 million dollars in punitive damage is better than nothing; plus the admission in court that he lied.
