  1. This ruling doesn’t exonerate Assange, it condemns the deplorable condition of the US carceral system. US “justice” has a poor reputation worldwide.

    1. @Colin All Creative the queen has no power tho, so it doesn’t matter. the queen can’t throw britain off the cliff, that’s the job of PM Boris Johnson.

    2. The US has a poor reputation in general anymore after allowing Dumpy Trumpy to pretend he is president. I’m American but ready to become a citizen elsewhere.

    3. USA, a genocidal country that controls its citizens with drugs and receives money vouchers so that they do not say anything, a terrorist country that invades and wants to impose its will at the point of threats, arrogant gringo greetings

  2. A little history: The State Department has rejected a request from London to hand over a U.S. diplomat’s wife who fled the U.K. last year after she was involved in a head-on car crash that killed a young British man.
Make a conclusion on your own!

    1. American personnel never takes responsability for crimes committed abroad. Only just now Trump pardonned the Blackwater mercenaries.

    2. @fiereke Another demonstration of being above the law. The pilot, Captain Richard J. Ashby, and his navigator, Captain Joseph Schweitzer, were put on trial in the United States and found not guilty of involuntary manslaughter and negligent homicide.

    3. Judges in England are notoriously conservative as they are elsewhere, but in this case, I hope that the judge made the decision on a basis of law, and not because of political pressure to “get back at the USA”. ISTM that Assange has had enough time behind bars, or in confinement in the embassy. Oh, and then Trump just “loved” Wikileaks, way back !

    4. @Tony D’Arcy What prompted this judge’s decision is not important at this point. What’s important is that he won’t be sent to the U.S. Everyone who has been following this knows it’s the plutocrats around the world, primarily those in the U.S., who have been championing for his incarceration. They know, they’ve been committing crimes against humanity, and they don’t want to open the floodgates to other Julian Assanges, Edward Snowdens and Chelsea Mannings. Therefore, they are collectively working to crush him and his acolytes.

  3. USA has NOT sent back the woman who killed a young man here in UK..USA wants everything their way…SO glad he is NOT being sent to the lunatic asylum on the other side of the Atlantic…..

    1. Trump was considering a pardon for him, definitely want him to get a trial and do the appropriate time if convicted. It’s a very sad time here in the USA, hopefully the new administration will extradite the woman responsible for vehicular homicide.

  4. we didnt send them the lady that killed the boy on motorcycle. because she is ambassador wife. so you cant expect them to

    2. @Nicky Brooks Why? The US didn’t violate the agreement. There was just a flaw in the agreement. I really don’t get what you’re saying.

    3. @Saul Rangel Controls its citizens with drugs? The US government spends billions of dollars fighting drug trafficking. They spend billions more helping central and South American countries fight drugs. And you’re accusing the US of giving drugs to its own citizens? You’re a fool. You hate just to hate. Maybe it makes you feel better about your own situation. I don’t know.

    4. @damnjustassignmeone USA is the biggest empire of these days racist and arrogant since its politicians and its citizens believe they are saviors of the world

  5. Many countries do not allow the extradition of prisoners to the USA, if they have a chance to get the death penalty.
And sometimes other poor handling of inmates and suspects also play a big role.
The problem is not which crimes Assange did or did not commit, but the state of the US judicial system.

  6. “Fragile mental health and risk of self-harm.”

Which t’rump family member are we talking about again? 🤔😅😂🤣

    1. How dare you talk about our leader like that!!! Our God like dictator Donald Trump is the best. Have you not seen how big his hands are! True greatness

    2. @Down With China 😂😂😂😂 I’m ready to leve this alternate universe, it’s getting more difficult identify sarcasm in this bizarre world 😝😎

    1. Even worse: DT would offer a pardon if Assange disclosed who leaked Democratic party emails to his site, to help clear up allegations they had been supplied by Russian hackers to help Trump’s election in 2016.

    2. @aline Michele The only reason individual 1 wanted him picked up was so that he could leverage the guy’s freedom in exchange for getting him to lie about his source. We already know it was the GRU.

    1. @damnjustassignmeone bc it shuts up its opponents by using its allies as vassal states to get whistleblowers to never feel safe.

    2. @damnjustassignmeone a great example is some american that hit some kid on a motorcycle by driving on the wrong side won’t be extradited back to the UK (she fled and claimed diplomatic immunity b/c her husband)

    3. @The Grey Penguin I don’t see how the case you’re talking (the wife of the diplomat) in any way relates to whistleblowers. Yes, a lady got in a car accident and killed a motorcyclist (and yes, it was her fault). But it was a British judge who ruled that this woman had diplomatic immunity under the treaty.

The issue was that the extradition treaty between the US and U.K. had a flaw in that diplomatic immunity didn’t apply to embassy staff but did apply to their families. (This applied equally to the families of both US and U.K. diplomats.) Both the US and U.K. subsequently agreed that this was a flaw & fixed it. The problem is you can’t change the law and then apply the new law retroactively. (Treaties are considered law once ratified.) The UK courts acknowledged this (and ruled that the woman regretfully had immunity) & American officials can’t legally do anything after the fact bc the old treaty language was in force at the time. So although what happened was tragic, it’s really not the fault of America. It’s the fault of both governments in negotiating a treaty with flawed language. And it’s certainly not an example of the US taking advantage of anyone.

  7. The USA doesn’t have anything resembling an independent judicial system … no half-sane country should extradite ANYONE to the USA.

  8. Dont worry. US will terror him when he’s free. They have a reputation in terrorizing people they dont like.

    1. The judge knew that Assange would be “Epsteinized” if extradited to the US, but of course the American terror machine reaches across the globe.

    1. YES ! Happy New Year ! Hard to put a price on the lost of years he went through ;( but its a beginning 😉 HAPPY NEW YEAR !

  9. The US government have been committing attrocities for so long now. There needs to be more transparency and accountability with America’s Draconian foreign policies.

  10. Assange can’t get a fair trial in the US and the US executes people. The actual war criminals Assange exposed still remain at large.

  11. Why is the media leaving out the due to inhuman imprisonments in the US in the headlines. Wouldn’t want the world to look into the US for profit prison systems
