Hello there internet people! The world’s top medical experts (and scientists) all agree. The CDC, the WHO, Dr. Fauci, Bill Gates, President Biden and leaders world wide assert that the vaccine is safe and necessary otherwise we will never be done with this deadly disease. The judge said he was not “sending a message” and I think you should take him at his word. His job is to start with the recommended sentence for a particular crime, consider the aggravating and mitigating factors, and adjust the sentence accordingly, without regard to public opinion.
This is a message because no cops has ever been sentenced to this amount of crime for killing someone while on duty…
Of course he’s sending a message whether he intends to or not.

No we don’t. The case they stacked against him had 4 aggravated charges. Just on those alone he could have gotten 25-30 on each one. The judge’s job is to follow the law as it is written unless there are mitigating factors that showed he deserved a lesser sentence, there were no mitigating factors in his trial to suggest that he deserved a lesser sentence.
@Bryan-Did you not even listen to one word this DA said? He clearly outlined why they did tack on the hate-crime charges over and over again. This case is now in the hands of the Feds who will most definitely tack on those hate-crime charges where he’ll get even more time if found guilty.
He got the same sentence as someone caught with drugs in their pocket. He slowly tortured a man to death in front of children over $20. He should never, ever see the light of day. Heartbreaking.

my opinion is that our congressmen and senators work very poorly, therefore, they need to reduce their salaries and make, like an average school teacher, about 80 thousand a year no more it is necessary to give them all Obama’s medical insurance for which they voted, to remove all personal protection from them for our money and remove all the assistants who work for them people, chose them and not their assistants, without written they can not say anything, limit their period of stay to 4 years and no more than two periods, and believe me, it will become much easier for us to live, they themselves will not accept this against themselves, therefore we all together need to intervene in this

Sherwin Derek Chauvin was on camera getting sentenced. I know he did not get a wink and a nod with little smirk at the camera as you walked away I guess you only does that when you murder somebody

Every single study has confirmed that there are systemic discrepancies in sentencing, which result in blacks being sentenced much more harshly than whites for comparable crimes. Every. Single. Study. It’s the objective truth, whether or not you have enough integrity to acknowledge it. You are clearly the one with an agenda here, and it isn’t pretty.
Dereck chauvins mom said he was a kind and compassionate man, I just wonder why he didn’t show it that day even though George Floyd did resisit arrest at the beginning of the video.
Putting on a uniform and being surrounded by others in uniform can change people’s psychology to a surprising degree. Also, a lot of “kind” people are only kind to people who they see as like them.

I think that it’s fine to record anything you want but, that the Police can confiscate and take your phone as evidence..
In any other country, this would be a normal sentence, however for America….. this is unduly lenient.
Unduly? Please explain why you think the judges decision was lenient? Maybe the judge made a fair assessment but, you probably didn’t even listen to his explanation, did you?
In any other country Floyd would have been dealt with the first time he broke the law.

@J W The judge noted 3 or 4 aggravating factors, but his sentence only includes 2.5 years for each aggravating factor. Glenn Kirschner did an excellent YT video about it. After a 30 year career as a federal prosecutor, Kirschner knows exactly what he is talking about.
However many years he actually spends in prison, there won’t be one easy day. He’s a cop in the world of felons. Every day will be a new lesson in survival.
He’ll be in protective custody. Sleeping ,eating ,watch TV , chilling
chauvin gets the appropriate sentence and it’s good to see the system is working as it always has , what is broken is common criminals who murder people getting out of prison after just a few years and then murdering again, so the system needs work still and especially felons and other criminals getting guns immediately after getting out of prison ,
The judge is a coward. He should have been send him for 30 years.
So 8 more years would have made you happy or would you have said more if he had given him that much? Did you even listen to his explanation as to why he rendered his decision?

Even if some people aren’t satisfied with the sentence length…I read the whole sentencing memo, and it’s practically bomb proof. This guy has NO CHANCE of an appeal.
I knew immediately that there would be an appeal. There should be no leniency for what he did.
“I have made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement.”
I would have called for an ambulance and waited with Floyd cuffed. The man was obviously tweeking and needed medical attention first, then jail.
Chauvin should have been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He murdered a man on camera with every intention on murdering him.
