Joy notes the annual tradition of politicians, ‘some of whom to have been the enemies of non white Americans,’ quoting Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘I have a dream’ speech. Joy says, “Those politicians would do better to pay attention to the later King, who painted a much less rosy picture of America.” Aired on 01/18/2021.

Joy Reid: Martin Luther King Jr’s Words Still Relevant In 2021 | The ReidOut | MSNBC
I knew this would get instant play tonight. Good job Joy❤❤❤ Happy birthday Dr.King
Amen, Joy.
Amen, Dr. King.
MLK, had more than the “I have a dream “ speech. The man gave a lot of speech’s some were more honest and realer than America is ready for.
truth
Today I listened, again, to “I have been to the mountaintop” and it’s so relevant and while disturbing, also gave me hope – “only when the sky is darkest can we see the stars”.
MLK was a prophet. He knew America better than America knows itself.
If A Person Doesn’t Learn Mercy From MLK They Have No Soul. He Teaches Mercy, Patients And Love In A Way No Other Ever Will. God Has Blessed Us With MLK And Nelson Mandela.
WELL IT SURE IMPLYS, THIS IS AMERICA.
Black Lives Matter.
Wow! If every leader we had was as sharp as Martin Luther King Jr was, we’d be lightyears ahead of were we are today. Amazing man!
What a tremendous loss MLK was. He’s relevant forever.
Boob Soy, Did you know him or are you just trying to get a little PC recognition?
No matter how hard people try racism and hate will always be a part of this country
but we keep working on it. Little bit less as time goes by. No one said it would be easy
Lyndsey’s white robe and hood is pressed and ready for the next opportunity to wear his true self
Praise God in all from whom all blessings flow.
As We Take This Day To Remember MLK, Please Let Us Not Forget Nelson Mandela.
I love MLK, Malcom’s X, Nelson Mandela, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti & Gil Scott-Heron! Who do you admire?
Muhammed Ali, he always did the right thing
Today I also listened to his “I have been to the mountaintop” speech. He spoke of unity and with today’s upsetting environment reminded “only when the sky is darkest can you see the stars”. Another speech identifying the unjust foot on the throats of sanitation workers.
No, Trump did NOT win.
BLM’s official Instagram launched “Twerk on Washington” to celebrate MLK and free the black female body from colonization. They mixed the “I have a dream” speech into the background being Twerked to.
He knew it wasn’t just a black people suffering at the hands of our society the poor have always suffered just black people the black poor suffer more
Listen Republicans he is speaking directly to Trump and the Republican party !
Dr. King’s words are as relevant today as they were when he first spoke them, and they will remain relevant far into the future.
