The Illinois 15th district is a perfect visual illustration of gerrymandering. You could throw a rock across the 13th at its narrow width , but that stretch of territory is over a hundred miles long and completely surrounded by the 15th district. WTAF?
Always hilarious seeing Dim-ocrats complain about jerrymandering when they’re the masters at it. Once a state goes blue, it never goes red again, because they sew up/rig the entire thing shamelessly.
It’s not just a question of whether the voters will support them over a Demoratic candidate next time round. It’s also a question of whether they’re risking their *nomination*: What if some in their own party gets fed up with their antics and decides to support a primary challenger? If that happens, their seat is at risk even if the district is reliably red. So at the very least I’d expect the analysis to mention how comfortably they won their primaries, not just how comfortably they won the subsequent general election.
