Republicans are a minority party and after Trump is publicly tried and convicted in a court of law, there’ll be even fewer of them. Also, Republicans are an older party. There were a lot of 2016 Trump supporters who didn’t make it to vote in 2020.
The GOP’s only way to stay in power involve the very undemocratic voter suppression of cutting polling places, purging voter rolls, and now, thanks to the unpatriotic Trump, throwing shade on elections they lose. In the last nine presidential elections, the GOP has won the popular vote once.

@Christine King Yep, the main reason he didn’t want to sign the NDAA and Omnibus bills was because of McConnell not only acknowledging Biden’s win, but to not contest the results on Jan 6th. The main reason he finally signed the Omnibus/Covid relief bill was because Sen. David Perdue beg and pleaded with him (and probably told him he would contest the results on Jan 6th).
Trump is a complete moron. He spent so much time going after Hunter Biden and creating conspiracy theories around COVID-19 believing that would win him the election, yet those 2 things are the reason why he lost the election.
If he would have put pressure on McConnell to pass the HERO’s Act back in June, he likely would have won re-election, sad to say. McConnell had gotten everything he wanted from Trump (3 Justices and many federal judges); there was no reason to keep him around anymore.
