Joe: Pete Buttigieg Ran A Great Campaign And Made A Wise Decision | Morning Joe | MSNBC
Reporter to young to remember Carter was president, not vice
Orren you can hear Joe correct him in real time at 2:07
@Linda Smith Thanks Linda , Vaughn is a hard working journalist, constantly on the move, I trust him . We’re all human and subject to mistakes…I couldn’t keep up with Vaughn on a good day….but Linda, you know how people can be…we need kindness, and you just showed kindness 👍
Wow. I didn’t catch that,and I voted for him.
Probably does not even know that the 1976/1980 Democratic ticket of Carter and Mondale are still alive and kicking.
It’s TOO, not TO, youngster.
“…former Vice President Jimmy Carter….” And no one corrected him.
Ronald Reagan did.
Former Vice President??
Pete’s answers were ridiculous, likely because he had to avoid Bernies talking points, which contain all of the major concepts that the voters are interested in. So, good luck building a campaign avoiding the main issues.
Well , we’ve seen plenty of campaigns like thAt, I guess Pete went for business as usual. That’s what voters don’t like. Brilliant guy!!
This is why MSNBC is fake news
btw, Al Sharpton is amazing, and he even looks getting younger.
It takes a sense of dignity and reality to know when to leave a party or a game of poker. Buttigieg is an intelligent man, he can keep all his political options open now because there’s no harm done and he learned a lót.
@Barbara Monahan No, actually the worst…the least experience, and without real ideas. He’s a fake.
@Terry Tater If you can’t figure it out, well…..too bad.
And BTW….I’m neither a boomer or a troll.
@Pat Doyle Yep!!
William H Music 2020 your point?
@Barbara Monahan . My subs aren’t hidden, yours are. Liars hide their subscription list so we don’t see foxnews…. Cmon.. What are we arguing about anyway?
He wasn’t my top choice but I admit, I was a bit emotional when he dropped out.
Joe Publico hahahahaha
You’ll get over it, Joanna.
You sound like you need to be on psychiatric medication to regulate your emotions if a millionaire politician dropping out of a political race provokes a strong emotional reaction.
@dave m I don’t remember him being a millionaire. I believe he even said so in one of the debates, he’s among the least wealthy of all the candidates.
If Mayor Pete decides to run for the Presidency at the same age Biden currently is the year will be 2060! That is totally mindblowing!
@Xu Sun You realize that for every nation that has tried to maintain an empire with global aspirations that there is a story of that nation declining precisely because of that expenditure. That is true all throughout history and there is no good reason to think that is not true of America. That is exactly the reason America has so much debt. Almost a trillion dollars a year, trillions upon trillions over the years for a military that hasn’t won a war since WW2 I’d argue. Hasn’t been able to defeat the Taliban over 20 years even. Do you think all that money is really well spent? America could cut it’s “defense” spending in half and still be better armed and equipped than all it’s potential adversaries. When you want to talk about economy, you want to think of real economy. That means what you can put/keep in the pocket of the average person on the street because then they will spend that back in the local economy. If people are saving money on healthcare care costs like they would then they can invest in their family, house, market, retirement savings etc. Same with mobility between jobs; it will be easier for people if they have healthcare and affordable education to go back to school and change their lives. It is better for the small and medium sized businesses that would not have the overhead of trying to offer insurance for employees. All of Bernie’s policies will make America more secure fiscally as well as making lives better for the American people. The right wants to hit Bernie on immigration but it doesn’t make sense economically either. Immigrants are highly motivated people that work their butts off, start business and pay taxes etc America’s strength has always been immigration.
@Malika Murodova Apparently not the people in South Carolina.
Vote For Biden on Tuesday
Be hear before you know it. The Eighties were just here yesterday!
@North Guy So true!
Really Joe? The Rev makes a spectacular James Brown analogy and you just straight up steal it and put Sinatra in there. Then you didn’t even thank him by name in the segue. Very woke. I hope Mika makes you sleep on the couch
Joe whitesplained the Rev
Mika is a hot milf
Love to see him snag the VA post.
If you’re referring to Pete buttigieg, I agree. My opinion the V.A. needs more vets from Iraq and Afghanistan in its leadership.
I believe his own experiences serving and his age would prove to be a valuable asset.
Don’t disrespect my man Jimmy like that
he was useless. Thats why he did one term.
@FuckILoveYouTubby You do realize 45* will be remembered by history as a corrupt, failed president whether he has a 2nd term or not ya?
@FuckILoveYouTubby; Not true
Steyer and Pete have done the right thing. Now Bloomberg, Amy, and Tulsi need to do the same.
It’s a fact that Bloomberg supports a minimum wage of $15 per hour. Circumstances and the economy have changed. You’re comparing apples and oranges.
@kale n You’re too ignorant to vote. You should stay home.
@Damo Stupidity is putting your faith behind a nearly 80 year old socialist who never had a job until middle age, who sat in Congress for 30 years and basically did nothing. So you’re the stupid one, stupid and naive. Sanders is a loser.
@trolltider är här I have insurance.
@Malika Murodova Your statement is an immature, uninformed generalization.
Chasten made the sweetest introduction. If you have found true love like that, you’re lucky!
@W TF? are you 12? Gtf up!
@Dawn Oceanside… ( . ) 👈 ouch! That hurt Pete.
Chasten-
@W TF? Nasty comments are all you can post. SAD @
@Barbara Monahan Almost certainly a bot. They’re all over Youtube.
@Barbara Monahan … I think you’re a beautiful person Barbara!
Does this qualify as news coverage? Fawning coverage without any critique?
Adam Abdo It sounded like an advertisement…
“Fawning”, excellent choice of word.
The DNC told him to get out before Super Tuesday to help Biden. Before South Carolina he was talking about going all the way to the convention and now he’s dropping out. It’s not hard to figure out why.
@Cory Snyder
BTW – do you recall Hillary as the point person for Bill fighting to pass universal health care when it was NOT popular? She did. What about her helping craft and pushing bills to get federal funding for public universities and Community colleges and tax credit for college costs? What are Bernie’s two main issues? Universal healthcare and affordable (in his case free) higher education. Gee, Hillary was trying to do something about those same issues almost 30 years ago!
If you want to critique her for not ACHIEVING those goals to any great degree that’s legit. Every NFL team wants to win the Super Bowl – most failed dismally, a few came close, and others contended – but I doubt that you would contend that they were not TRYING to win it. Hillary went before congress seriously advocating a universal healthcare system before Bernie did – she got spanked by political reality.
So what are you going to do when (not if) Bernie can’t deliver on his platform?
@Pat Doyle If Bernie doesn’t deliver on all of his promises, oh well. At least Trump is out of the White House. That’s what I’m most concerned about, getting rid of Trump. I fear Trump’s cheap attacks on Biden’s son will cost Joe the election just like the emails and Benghazi hurt Clinton. I see him as a weak candidate but I will vote for him out of necessity.
@Cory Snyder
Agreed – we can never be sure what will resonate with the electorate – but outside Trump’s base, I don’t think many put much stock in the Biden BS – but there are many of my age and older who are scared shitless of anything “socialist”. I am not, but I know and understand many who are. We were basically taught the socialism = USSR, and we did regular “duck and cover” drills in case of nuclear attack. I was lucky to have parents who taught me nuanced, critical thinking, so I got over it – but I will admit that when I was young, socialism scared the crap out of me too. But I know someone I would generally call a liberal Democrat, but that word triggers him. And when he heard Bernie speak of Castro’s literacy program as a good thing (which it was and Bernie was being honest) was to him like a Republican praising Hitler for the Autobahn, or the VW. Personally, I admire Bernie for what he said – politically, it was incredibly stupid.
Bottom line – both have huge vulnerabilities that can be exploited by a dishonest opponent – which they will face.
@Pat Doyle I never thought the emails and Benghazi stuff was a big deal but the Reich wing media and the online trolls kept beating that talking point into people’s heads. It had to hurt her, it just had to. I find it extremely ironic that in Bloomberg’s first debate he accused Bernie of being a communist and now all these people online are branding him as a communist. The guy trying to buy his way to the White House is using Republican talking points to hurt the one with the most favorable statistics vs Trump. It feels like we’re all being played for fools.
I am a big fan of Mayor Pete and I wish him nothing but the best. Hopefully we’ll see more of him in the future. True, he has some things to learn and improve upon – but he seems up to the task. God Bless
Wise words. Kind words.
Nice to see a post without anger and resentment.
I agree with his policies. I just think he needs more experience and maturity. I think he did the right thing.
Vice President Carter? (Face palm)
HE DROPPED OUT TO HELP THE DNC CONSPIRE TO HELP BIDEN PICK UP THE VOTES. #CROOKEDPOLITICIANS #SCAM
it is a puppet to corporate greed like Trimp de Shrimp Brain !!!
I would have prefered voting for him over senile & out-of-touch Biden, -if those were my only options.
AnnMei Li Biden seems out of touch, but he may not be. Perhaps what you’re seeing as out of touch is just middle of the road politics. I am concerned about Bernie’s Throwing out the Baby with the Bath water Politics. For example, I disagree with forgiving all student debt. I think we should reduce student debt dependent on how much the student and student’s parents earn. What should a student who has wealthy parents be forgiven any debt? The student could borrow the money from his/her parents and re-pay the money to them at no interest. A student coming from poverty, on the other hand, needs to have their debt significantly reduced. A student coming from the middle class, needs their student debt somewhat reduced.
Biden does seem slightly senile now and his claim to fame is simply that hung onto Obama’s coat tails. However, if he does become the nominee and makes Pete his running mate for VP, I could live with him.
@Shawna Weesner A student who comes from a family with wealth doesn’t have loans. The families pay out of their checkbooks, and can bribe the schools to maintain or obtain their child’s enrollment.
Most low-income students don’t contemplate or go to college because of the very high cost of it. This is one of the ways the elites prevent lower classes from obtaining education and prevent a basic right from everyone.
Loans are given for students in need, so if Sanders wants to reduce or eliminate loans from students who are low-income & middle-class, I have no issue with it since this society, which is ran by elites, currently uses high-interest rate loans to punish & financially imprison lower-income people with life-long debt for having the audacity to obtain a good education.
I’ve had to skip several semesters because of the costs of school, and I know too many people who have the brains, but no funding for college. Right now education is currently a priviledge that only certain people possess. I’m wishing for a more equal playing field.
Shawna Weesner I understand what you’re saying but it’s actually much more efficient with public programs to give everyone the same benefits, and then tax higher earners more so that the money comes back at tax time. Social security works like that. Can you imagine if everyone had to apply each year and be evaluated ? It would take thousands of people to process the paperwork.
AnnMei Li The cheating Democrats pick the candidate not the voters. Destroying democracy is a core value of the Democrat party. Trump 2020.
A better life being Americans’ worst fear, there’s no option to team up against Sanders!
That was classy.
The guy looked normal, knowledgable, down-to-earth, polite and sane all the way through…
… of course he ‘s had no chance as a politician in the USA…
Nonsense. He is the Golden Boy now in the dnc..the perfect empty vessel.
@Knut Katastrophe Not sure what to make of your comment – given your thumbnail photo…
. . . tho’ he had a killer-instinct. (Are we talking about Geoffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy?)
So being mayor doesn’t qualify as a politician in the US?🤷🏻♂️🤔
@RabiEd WulphEZ All right, that’s true. Let me change it to “top politician”.
Joe is the DNC’s compromise with conservative republicans who fear progressive policies, women and minorities. If we nominate him, we will lose in 2020.
#Bernie2020
