  1. Former Texas governor Rick Perry said Texans will be out of electricity for more than 3 days the federal government should stay out of Texas business.
    The GOP have no empathy.

  2. Rick Perry: ” Not on our watch. Texans would rather die a long agonizing death just to own the libs.” 😂😂😄

    1. @Ro G Republicans in office have always been ready and willing to sacrifice their voter’s lives to convince the voters that survive to keep voting for them.

    2. The only appropriate response to that would be: Go ahead, make my day!

(And oddly enough, texans would dig that response…)

    1. True. I’m a progressive living in California. We’re nice and warm, we have plenty of electricity and we don;t vote for Republicans.

  3. I have a lot of respect for how politicians and senior corporate people in Japan approach such failings. They acknowledge that they f’ed up, don’t seek to flail about, pointing figures or trying to deflect the facts. They resign and/or double down on correcting the problem ASAP and strive to prevent a repeat.

    1. Personal responsibility is big in Japan. We pay lip service in America, but Americans are always ready to trip their best friend to escape the chasing lion.

    1. Google their appearance together on Stephen Colbert…. they had their hair similar, neither had facial hair and they both responded with identical expressions and reactions. I’ve never seen identical twins THIS identical.

  4. brilliantly said, ty all. the total incompetence and heartless lack of concern for their own people by the gqp politicians is appalling! praying for the people of texas.

  5. Let them secede they don’t want Federal Assistance. Seems everything is Big in Texas including stupidity and greed. Watch the Insurance companies now delay or deny insurance claims.

    1. Republicans have been putting party above country for years. Poor Republicans don’t have a problem voting against their own interest. I still love Texas

    2. doubt it, it was slowly changing. This might accelerate it. It was bound to change at the earliest by ’24/’28

    3. If you think this will flip Texas from red to blue, I don’t know what non-gerrymandered, non voter suppressed world you live in.

  6. The investigation was done already. A 300 page report told them to winterize the entire infrastructure or have it collapse again in the next freeze. The power companies didn’t listen and are now crying “woe is me”.

  7. Jerry Jones is one of those price gaugers. Think of that next time you have to work a second job to pay your electric bills instead of watching Cowboys football…

    1. It’s privatisation, deregulation, self-regulation, small government without transparency accountability or responsibility and tax cuts for the rich to get the trickle di trickle da trickery done effect

  8. When customers have to get bank loans to pay their monthly utility bills there is corruption in the highest levels no one has ever seen before. I seen that picture a customer posted of his utility bill and he owed over $1,000 for 2 weeks usage on his power bill. Time for Regulation and handcuffs somewhere in Texas.

  9. Ted Cruz is the motto of the GOP. Incompetence, irresponsibility, Climate Deniers, corruption, ignorance. Just like Trump.

  10. Google: Texas grid fails to weatherize, repeats mistake feds cited 10 years ago (Houston Chronicle, Feb. 17, 2021)
