  1. About time..they always suffered from racist..and inequality..I’m happy for them..this country was made from our ancestors back..

  2. Like Northwestern University buying up all the property and evanston when they don’t have to pay taxes and the residence and evanston is paying higher taxes for every block northwestern university is buying

    1. @Marvel6🇺🇸 “White Immigrants came to this country 50 years ago with nothing but nickels and dimes and no education, and managed to pool their nickels and dimes to set up little stores. Then they managed to develop those little stores into larger stores. Then they continued to pool & save and work until those stores became industries that created job opportunities for their kind.
Now the government statistical bureau reports that black males have a combined purchasing power of 20 billion dollars a year (177 billion today. Though it’s probably much higher than that now). We feel if the black man is spending *20 billion* dollars a year while *not* creating any businesses, *not* creating any industries, not creating *any* job opportunities for his kind, he is not in a _moral position_ to point his finger at the white man and demand compensation for discrimination. If the black man *HAS* 20 billion dollars, these supposedly genius Black leaders ought to show their people how to pool their money and develop economic opportunities for themselves; rather than demand more and more compensation from the white man.”

    2. @WhiskeyWight listen I’m not saying your ignorant but the facts are the facts. I take it as a matter of education and the truth is indisputable.

  3. There are no slaves alive today nor are there slave owners alive today. We must learn from English philosopher and political economist Jon Stewart Mills who stated that “almost every people now civilized have consisted in majority of slaves”. The ancient Chinese perhaps engaged in slavery more than any other people followed closely by India. We were called Egyptians use slaves a great deal as did the Romans. My people were enslaved by both the Romans and the English.
Slavery was primarily an issue in South America and the Caribbean and came to the Americas before we were even a country. Those champion reparation should go to Africa because at the time slavery was extremely profitable for the great African empires, selling their captives to Arab in the Middle East buyers. The African empires allowed Europeans to establish courts in Western Africa, And begin selling slaves, that’s the Atlantic slave trade begin. If reparations are going to be paid it should be paid by African governments who sold their people.

    1. Did you know that some of the biggest plantations were owned by black Americans? Also, your Vice President Kmallah Harris’s family owned one of the biggest ones. Love from Africa.

    1. A year from the date of the checks being cut, they’ll be back asking for more screaming that it wasn’t enough.

  4. will not pay for sins I did not commit. My extended family lost 23
members fighting to end slavery. My family were part of the founding of
the republican party’s fight against the Democratic Southern slave
owners. I will not pay for the sins of Democrats.

    1. This is bigger than slavery dude. This is 40s 50s and 60s when black people were discriminated against and didn’t have the same rights and opportunities as whites. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

  5. Nonsense. I if I lived in Evanston, I sued the city on the ground of discrimination. They are giving black houses money, but only black. Sound like discrimination to me. Reparations are nonsense.

  6. Now, if you want to fix the housing situation, then I am all of that. But 1985, was a year before I was born. But I am not for giving peoples money because they were mistreated years ago!

  7. I applaud Evanston…. would never want to live in such a racist city, but applaud them from afar 🤣
