An assistant to Donald Trump told him she had a fantastic dream last night. There was a huge parade down Pennsylvania Avenue celebrating him. Millions lined the parade route, cheering when the President went past. Bands were playing; children were throwing confetti into the air, there were balloons everywhere.

The fact that he crossed out key parts of his speech shows that he still did support them but did not want to say it publicly as it would make him seem even worse in his own mind.
Notice too that he had someone write it for him because he could never compose anything about that day that would have been decent and still he had to screw with the wording. What he hated is that the Congress held and finished their duty.
As the hearing made clear, the rioters were doing what he wanted. Why would he ever criticize them?
