@John B it depends on the context. Photography becomes illegal when a child is involved in lewd situations. It can also be used as evidence if it furthers a crime. If you stalk a girl and have 1000 photos of her going about her daily routine I guarantee they’ll be used as evidence. Sure it’s circumstantial, but it adds to the overall weight of the case. Which is why this is even a news story to begin with.

One key point people keep forgetting about is that ALL tours of the Capitol had been suspended because of Covid19. The Capitol was closed to tourists. Loudermilk shouldn’t have had anyone there, regardless of who they were or why they claimed to be there. So? WHY did he have any type of tour at all???

None of this changes the fact that the Capitol was closed to the public because of COVID restrictions. There should have not been any members of the public in the building thing, particularly taking pictures of pictures of stairwells. Constituents meet with their reps in their offices, which are not necessarily in the Capitol.
The congressman LIED said he didn’t do tour & he was letting them take pics in restricted areas that the public doesn’t have access to on normal tours..
