  1. Another big problem is the fact that these vendors are pricing some of these items way too high. The pricing gets even worse when business is slow and they feel that they have to make up for lost sales. There is a misconception that all foreigners are rich, when in fact many tourists are looking for a bargain. As someone who has visited many craft markets I think its crazy that they want to charge 5,000 for a tshirt sometimes.

    1. The Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism don’t care about the craft vendor. Their focus is on Big Hotels

  2. You lady speaking ..have u ever being in a craft market selling for a day ?? Don’t speak on what u don’t know 💯

  3. These merchants are sellers. They are not crafts people. Back in the old days, merchants would sell authentic crafts merchandise, sourced and made in Jamaica. This is what the visitors want; not items made in China. Visitors to Jamaica are savvy and know when they are being conned. If Jamaican craftsmen and ceaftswomen would put the effort to be sincere ambassadors representing an authentic experience for the visitors, their products will sell. Bring back the authenticity of a Victoria Pier.
