I was always told when you don’t answer a question, you either did it or you going to lie about it. But in this case he going to blame someone else or throw some other member of his administration under the bus.

@A. GraVes I am highly educated from a different country. Taxes, like finances, are private issues and no one else’s business unless it is voluntarily disclosed or as mandated by an investigation. In summary, it is a private civil matter and not criminal in anyway.

You miss two important points with this talking point:
1. These other people here are not running for President of the United States. Every president from Richard Nixon onward has made their tax returns public – until DJT.
2. Trump has not only broken with tradition but has also broken his promise. He had promised (many many scandals back) to release his tax returns. He never did. At some point he came up with a bogus excuse of his tax returns being under audit. This doesn’t fly because not only is there no evidence that there is an audit going on, it is also irrelevant as others *have* released their returns even when they were under audit. The Commissioner of the IRS has said himself that there is no law preventing audited tax returns from being released to the public.
The reporter should of prepended his question by adding “can you do me a favor though and let me know ….”
