Wednesday's Democratic debate in Nevada took on a noticeably more pointed tone than was present at previous debates, and former Sen. Claire McCaskill says it's time for them to be tougher. Aired on 2/20/2020.

'It's Time For These Debates To Be Tougher': Claire McCaskill | Morning Joe | MSNBC
This is why Claire isn’t in government anymore haha
As long as we make them tougher on everyone and not just 4 of em ….
I would like to see “Healthcare for all”, not only insurance for most. Someone please chart the cost and savings that the average persons should expect. Ex: pay a little higher taxes, but no insurance premiums. How much a central data center will save money in the long run. Not have every doctor and insurance company have repetitive data.
Australia has a good system, why can’t we adapt that?
Taxes for health care will be peanuts. They will be far less than current premiums. Those with company plans can renegotiate them for things that the plan doesn’t cover. Companies save and workers can concentrate on better wages. Don’t let trump. Given kloby booty or Blomberg lie to you. Canada’s plan is excellent.
No one can definitively “chart” this. I would like to see people like Bernie touting points that would appeal to conservatives – like we could eliminate Medicaid, CHIP, and all sorts of other government bureaucracies just filling holes in our broken system, and save billions. I would like to see them focus more on redirecting the funds ALREADY being paid by individuals and corporations rather than talking about paying by taxing the rich – who can’t afford it – seriously.
With all due respect, Bernie has been the toughest and most consistent candidate for years. He was talking about healthcare as a human right since the 90s.
More like he has gotten nothing done for thirty years–a broken record and ready for the grave.
@Dawn Oceanside
Good luck with that. They think they need to “educate” us. What you and I call “corporate socialism” they see as economic stimulus and allowing people to keep what they’ve earned. Sad thing is, that in the most simplistic sense, they are correct, and unfortunately we have a lot of simpletons in the USA.
@Benzie Smith
What a moron – Bernie has done a lot – but he is only ONE of 535 legislators. What do you think he should have done that he did not try to do?
@Dawn Oceanside Family farmers need a bigger farm.
How did running to the right help you again Claire?
The Thing haha I was thinking the same
Why, your nominee was already selected.
It’s time to stop this clown show! No more please!
They raise their hands like first graders Pick me Pick me sooo Funny 😁
So, you’d like them to shout over each other as Trump would do, or they have buzzers to push like a game show, what’s the best way?
Democrats start the negotiation at the bottom and compromise down! Meanwhile the republicans start at the top and go from there. Not too difficult to see how we got here!
Let’s understand what happened on stage, every candidate but Sanders agreed that the peoples votes should elect the Democrat nominee. Why is this not being talked about more? They cry about socialism, but Bernie was the only one that stood up for Democracy on in the debate, the rest admitted that if they don’t get the most votes; it’s okay for the DNC establishment to just choose who they want to be the nominee. I feel like I fell asleep in a Democracy and woke up in a dictatorship!
Exactly, the DNC only seems to care about the popular vote when Bernie is not involved.Looks like they’ll try to screw him at the convention.
That’s because political parties are NOT government bodies but rather private clubs. Why even HAVE parties if they are not ABOUT something? I am not a huge fan of parties but I doubt they will ever go away – this means that a party has a “brand” – this who we are and what we stand for. Just because some guy can get more people to vote for him does not change that. Almost half the people who vote in Democratic primaries are not members of that club, in fact, in some states, many are opposed to the club and everything they stand for. Trump is what happens when a party loses control – the GOP is effectively dead. I am fine with no primaries and just voting for President – I would prefer it. But if people who spent a lifetime helping build a party to advance a certain policy agenda don’t want to be led by someone with a different agenda – that is their right.
People need to wake up to what parties are.
The people have representatives in DC. They just don’t use it!
Clair sees blood and wants Pete to clock Bernie now. Good luck with that
it’s getting more and more like watching pigs being slopped.
Bernie never said “capitalism is the root of all evil.” That’s very disingenuous.
@Antenna Wilde I see. Thanks for your reply
Formerly, in Europe the kings waged war but when a revolution from below was felt they forgave themselves and joined forces to crush the common people!
@Antenna Wilde
Chill out. I am not a Pete supporter but don’t go overboard! You described TRUMP – not Pete.
Claire McCaskill failed senator giving advice about how to run a campaign…..anyone else see the irony here?
Imagine Donald on that debate stage last night 🤔
Seems like antiquity…Historians looking back to the Obama
years, concluding journalists must have been bored out of their wits, having to
report on the most controversial issues of their day, the wearing of the Presidential
tan suit and his wearing of Mom jeans, and oh yes, his smoking, keeping it
hidden from The First Lady as he continues his secession from the habit.
I’m here to seek advice from a Loser like Mccaskill.
Are there any attorneys out there to help with this question: Can I sue William Barr for not doing his job to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2020 election? The reason I ask this is congress was just advised by Trumps intelligence departments that Russia is already interfering in the election and plan to be more involved yet the AG is turning his back. I think I have a case.
“On set” says it all – the media sees all this as a play or a sporting event.
