  1. Remember when we used to hear these things and go “yeah man! Real careless farrin people style”. Memba dem days deh?

It’s hard not to draw our own conclusions based on our feelings but I’d like to hear from the father.

    1. Yep!
I used to take so much pride in saying that these level of carelessness don’t happen in my 🇯🇲
      Now mi shame like 🐕

    2. Yeah I love how you guys are quick to point out carelessness when a child dies but y’all not so quick to do so if physical harm isn’t done. When parents have children in dance it’s ok, when parents have children in make up it’s okay, when children are exposed to violence it’s okay, when children are given liquor to drink it’s ok and I can list a lot more but you get the point. People are told to leave people make them grow their child how they want but because the child loses her life all hell break loose, we are all humans are subject to simple mistake so instead of pointing fingers when we clearly don’t know the full details why not sympathize with the parents and offer condolences to the child.

    3. @Brandon Denver You conflate an explanantion with righting a wrong. It can’t be fixed nor undone but I would like to hear from him truthfully what happened. I’m not arguing the merits or lack thereof of fatherhood, none of that. Simply, what happened.

    4. @Lex Nel Oh, he’ll be providing that explanation soon enough. Hopefully it’s tendered in a court of law before a judge and jury. This is ridiculous.

  2. It so sad I know the parents are in pain at the moment my heart reached out to you mom and dad you going have a lot of negative comments people who just love to beat up their gum

    1. You are talking foolishness how can you not see the baby when leaving out of the car. The baby must be in a car seat high enough for him to see her the baby can’t make sound, him don’t here the baby none at all. A wicked him wicked a must you friend. Make that did happen to you and see what would happen to you.

    2. Exactly. After I delivered my daughter. I had to set reminders whenever I left the house to check back seat. I was so depressed and unfocused that I could have forgotten my name. I also had the opportunity to be at home for 18 months after delivery, so I choose to stay home a lot.

    3. @Anime Mega Bucket Yeah I love how you guys are quick to point out carelessness when a child dies but y’all not so quick to do so if physical harm isn’t done. 4. @Renardo Palmer What you are saying have nothing to do the careless of the policeman. I have four children then don’t go to parties, drink, smoke or anything like that I’m a very protective parent the oldest is 27 so I know what I’m saying.

Why the mother did not check up to see if he dropped her off. How can you be driving and don’t remember the baby around the back of your car, even when you are coming out if the vehicle so the baby did dumb did not make no sound. This was don’t intentionally. All when him a work it did not cross his mind about the baby. Please be real now in your thinking. Make it did happen to do say think him a the mother would say about you that you careless.

    5. @Anime Mega Bucket it has a lot to do with being careless , the point I’m trying to make is we’re quick to accept carelessness if no harm is done but when harm is done people start crucifying. I love that you’re putting yourself across as a model parent congrats if that’s the way you are, as I was saying people do make some simple mistakes that really is costly on a daily basis, I’m clearly not picking up for anyone here but things do happen. I agree that the parents should have possibly checked up on their child but I’ve seen on numerous occasions were parents forget to pick up their child from school it does happen so be logical and just understand that things like this will and do happen.

  3. Sad 😭 cute baby girl ….. how can you forget that your child is in the car? Really! Can’t understand you forget your own child.

    2. @Renardo Palmer it’s not okay to harm a child period weather physical, emotionally….. I’m a mother and to say that I forget my child it doesn’t make any sense…..no one is perfect yes we all make mistakes ,but as parents we have to be more responsible.

    3. @Cathy Bennett Okay I’m glad you understand that it’s not okay to harm a child in any way shape or form. With that being said everyone is being too self righteous about the whole situation regardless of what you think, things like this do happen even if you’re the most responsible parent in the world we are human and are prone to making detrimental mistakes that proves to be costly. Everyone needs to think realistic and realize that no matter the talking or finger pointing the incident has already happen and it will happen again as long as the human race is in existence.

  4. No man, I can imagine how devastating this is for the father. What was going on for him? What was his emotional and mental well-being?

The apathy I feel for this sweet baby. She must have been crying her head off or worse sleeping due to the extreme heat.

My heart goes out to her family. I trust the lawyers involved will request a full psychological review for the father before any decision are made on his presumption of innocence.

  5. Oh my God I feel it to my heart for that baby could someone make a mistake like that I cannot believe it wow wow wow

    1. Yep!
Then we wonder why God don’t allow some people to have children 🤔😏
Coz, clearly, children is not for everyone!🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

  6. This story is so sad 😢😢. My condolences to the officers for their loss. She is such a beautiful young girl. I am especially empathising with the mother because the bond is greater.
As for the father, I seriously doubt that he would intentionally leave his child in the car. That would have been beyond cruel.
With that being said myself, and I think most Jamaicans that heard or read about this story is asking the question how?
How do you forget that you have a child in your car? Even if it was not a routine task for him and believe me when I say I have messed up some serious wayss in that aspect, God knows we are not perfect.
But how do you explain leaving a child in a car for 8 hours? 👀

    2. David Cameron ( one of UK PM ) he and his
wife went for an evening out with their
      baby and forgot their
      child..left him completely behind.

    3. @Yvonne Taylor tell these self righteous individuals that we are all humans and capable of making some mistakes that will sometimes have detrimental outcomes such as death. If this wasn’t intentional I see no reason to crucify anyone, yes it was negligence but not deliberate according to reports and we as humans fail to understand that things do happen.

  7. Don’t Jamaican daycares call the parents when a child doesn’t turn up? That is standard practice in certain jurisdictions because of kidnapping on the way to school and forgotten baby syndrome. If the child doesn’t turn up and a parent doesn’t call to notify the daycare of his or her absence, then the daycare should call. This should also be standard practice for schools. I am sure questions will be asked about who is going to do this job. To those questions I respond, who is going to bring back this baby? Checks and balances must be put in place throughout society to protect our children. The burden must not be left on parents alone because sometimes parents fall short because of stress and other issues.

    1. I see where you’re going but I disagree. Yes, the daycare and has a duty to check on the welfare of children however I don’t believe in them doing what you’re asking them to do. ESPECIALLY not in this case. The child wasn’t missing from daycare for days, it was one day. We keep asking everyone else to carry out the majaroty of parenting duties except the parents. Being a parent doesn’t come with a manual but you know what you’ve signed up for. To our knowledge, Jamaica doesn’t have a forgotten baby syndrome and kidnapping is usually something that raises an alarm. The last time we heard of this type of thing was in 2018 when a mother left her 4 month old son in her car because she wanted to go and party. This isn’t the norm. You want to lay the resposibilty of the child’s care into the hands of the daycare before the child even gets to daycare. At this moment, unless evidence is presented to say otherwise, this all comes down to the father. Until we hear from the father all we’ll be doing is hypothesizing about what happened and projecting what we think should have happened.

    2. Okay, the dad dropped
the mother to work. this leave the responsibility on dad..
      baby sound asleep, dad
popped into station, got distracted and forgot that he had left baby in car.
I hope that he has a good explanation.

I am just hoping that he was not cruel.

      😭😱

  8. My friend son died the same way in 2017, Texas. Too much on the brain maybe and the baby remained quiet/sleep

  9. First off,I must give my sincerest condolences to all the family members, friends & associates of this beautiful baby girl.🙏🏽 I’d love to know the full details of this tragedy because 8 hours with no check on your baby seems heartless!🤔

    1. The baby has been attending this daycare for only a few days therefore she wouldn’t have been comfortable there with strangers.

    2. Due to this important fact it would’ve been typical for the mother to call some time during the day to check on their child.

    3. If the baby was asleep during the commute, wouldn’t she have been strapped in a car seat which allows her to be seen in the rear view mirror?🤦🏽‍♀️

    4. Neither one of the parents forgot their cel phone, handbag or wallet in the car so how did they forget a human being?🤔

    5. At no time during the entire 8 hours did the parents correspond by phone call or text message about their baby or any other matter?

    6. No coworker or even the sick Grandmother asked the mother or father how the baby was doing as a form of typical courtesy or concern?🤔 It’s quite normal for friends, colleges or family members to ask about your baby.

    7. Lastly everything needs an investigation so the law cannot make assumptions just because people are grieving. This type of tragedy happens quite often in America & sometimes it’s outright negligence & other times it’s much, much more.
    Please make this make sense!!!

  10. I feel very sad to hear this!….our first priority is always our children…at what point did he forget the child?
..did he completely forget that the child was in the car?…or did he plan to come back and take the child to the day care?….so you start your duties before dropping of the child which would seem to me that you completely forget your own child!……you didnt even see her when stepping out your vehicle…ver sad😪

    1. You ask sensible questions. What stood out for me is him starting his duties before dropping the child of. Antenna raised. I’d love to hear from him.

    2. I think that he was already doing his work
when the mother drove the baby to his place of work then asked him to
take the baby to the day care, he might have replied to her but was not fully engaging
in a conversation because he was concentrating on the
work that he was already engaged in.
She was late for her own assignment..they
we’re not fully engaging each other.
      Off she went believing
      that he understood that
she had left the baby in
      the car. She had every
      confidence in him that
he would do as she had asked immediately.
I believe that he had every intention to have
      taken the baby to the
child care but that moment was chaotic..
      he completely forgot
what was asked of him..so, to the mother..
the baby is in day care and in dad’s mind, baby
      is in day care. Perhaps
the mother is the one that usually take baby
      to and from day care,
therefore dad would not have his mind on
      baby until he reaches
      home.
      The mother might have
      had confidence in the
      day care that they
      would call if baby was
      unsettled.
Work was the order of the day.

I am sorry for them if
      that was the case.
      ☹️😭
      h

    3. @Yvonne Taylor You have been misinformed. They both leave home together! She reach her work first (Pedro Plains) He was suppose to drop the baby off in the same area of his work….. What happen? …. Don’t k now .

  11. I think it was a genuine mistake as these things can happen to busy, stressed, working people. Its not the first I am hearing of a story such as this. Then again, it leaves the questions of whether or not we have our priorities right and is the stress of trying to survive becoming too overwhelming?? Smh 😔

    1. @iquivalent badness yes it was a mistake. Obviously dropping off the baby was not a part of his routine, the baby was probably asleep and he forgot her there. It was a terrible mistake and the baby died. You judging me as evil is a confession of your character.

  12. Folks, don’t be so quick to judge the parents or the dad in particular. Wait for more information. Condolences to the family of this beautiful child!

  13. This is so very heart rending, may God give these loved ones the grace to endure and over come….having family in this field I can understand the pressure,,stress and strain they encounter daily….Hoping the Government will Now Consider building some child care facilities nearby for their members ( who are constantly oppressed and unjustly compensate for their efforts to the nation)…?👀🤔🙏

  14. This happened in the Bronx. The father who is a nurse forget to drop off twins and same thing happened.People become so taken up with their jobs and get carried away working concentrating on what next and for get about things related to home duties. That was a honest mistake especially if it is a new assignment.Back to the arms of God precious baby RIP

  15. I believe he genuinely forgot the baby maybe the baby was asleep and so she was silent…I can’t imagine what they are going through. I can’t imagine this happening to me ,I would be out of my mine , the guilt I would be dealing with.

  16. There is no situation too difficult for the Lord to walk us through. We have to keep taking the next step forward with him, trusting that he will carry us through. Don’t be discouraged by the failures of men. Be reminded that God is able to do great things even in the most impossible seeing situations.

  17. What A beautiful Baby…. My God… Ninja Man Would Of Said “Some Nuh Right Ya Suh”. God , ☝🏽 You Alone Know. May Her Soul Rest In Peace. 💐
