Beachdudeca Besides NE, the problem of immigrants from other countries is not significant in India. How does this end legal discrimination? In India judiciary is notoriously understaffed, one case can drag for decades. So, legal discrimination is kinda confusing. With all the flaws, the economic logistics of it is mind boggling, in Assam which is 2.4% of countries population, the cost to the government was some 1200 crores, one can imagine the costs of NRC across India, particularly when the country is in an economic slump, GST is not paid to the states by the center. How will the states go about this? And we do not consider the human costs, every year India has floods, people loose everything, to ask the poor and the vulnerable to get their documents and their parents documents is cruel.
