If I thought for a second that everything the Dems say was the absolute truth I would be in DC doing something about it and if I thought he actually put Russia before the US I would at least try to eliminate the threat because he’s an enemy to the Republic. I thought Obama was bad for the country and even though he actually said HE COULD BE MORE FLEXIBLE AFTER HE GOT ELECTED I don’t think he was attempting to overthrow a country!! Why are we not addressing what really is screwing the country over in terms of voting?…cause when you address them…the actual voting system, then any outside interference won’t have a real impact. Electoral College, Gerry Mandering (2012 house of rep…dems got 1.4 million more votes overall then the republicans…yets republicans got the majority with over 30 more seats) Voter Purging, Voter Suppression, people not voting….more people vote, the more likely dems win.

That’s beyond dispute. If he has nothing to hide White House staff should be permitted to testify. Tweeting dozens of versions of his truth daily won’t change the fact that Trump invites foreign interference in our elections. That Republicans in the Senate will benefit from that foreign interference may be enough to buy their cooperation on Trump’s behalf. But blind optimism guarantees nothing. Corruption doesn’t always get you what you want either.

We will have these records eventually. All of them. And it will be devastating. That’s why trump is so astonished that it’s the Ukraine scandal that led to impeachment. Because he’s done so much worse.

Is it legal? It is against the Rules & Protocol of U.S. Presidency & the Executive Branch….
1) To destroy any Official Records of conversations, official briefings, daily schedules/activities, meeting notes & transcripts, discussions, decisions & other paperwork generated, plus records of any actions taken, with regard to any/all Official Business of the U.S. Gov’t.
…and…
2) To ‘secret away’ President’s Official phone calls made in course of presidential duties, including any conversations with foreign leaders. An accurate, official record is kept of all calls, on the normal White House server. Exception is for specific Nat’l. Security situations, such as troop movements & other things of a highly sensitive nature; that is when Official Record of call is placed in special “coded” server ~ only a VERY FEW people with that code can access that server.
Unlike in a monarchy or dictatorship, the U.S. President is speaking for & doing the work of, the American People in his/her official capacity. Just as he/she lives in the White House — a.k.a., “The People’s House”. Keeping official, exact records of president’s conversations with others protects BOTH callers, should there be any dispute over what was said during phone calls. Because each side knows records of calls are kept, it can prevent accusations later & provide clarity in case of faulty memory, or a misunderstanding.
If anyone is old enough to remember Oliver North & “Iran/Contra” scandal (involving drugs for arms), you may recall that North & his secretary had a major “shredding party” to get rid of incriminating documents relating to their illegal actions in that ugly matter. Shredding of those documents was ALSO illegal, a separate crime, as its intention was to keep secret & destroy any proof of the unauthorized/illegal program, participants & its illegal activities! They did manage to destroy many incriminating documents before being caught. That was also the Republicans, doing what they wanted to do, after Congress (in wiser days) had voted against it.
