They’re talking about using the EA to stop this is my guess. They can’t let provinces other than Quebec unilaterally change the constitution.
No they aren’t, link where you read they are gonna use the emergencies act to stop this, because they could literally just take this legislation to court for being unconstitutional.
This doesn’t change the Constitution, and neither has anything Quebec has done. And they don’t need the EA for this, not that it would be the tool of choice anyway.
No change to the constitution.
I’m ready to spill Laurentian blood in the prairies. Let’s do this.
is this the guy “family friend” used to babysit drama teacher?
Ottawa is the enemy, the old guard needs to be swept out!!!!
if you want to get along with Alberta leave their oil alone! That’s what this is about.
@NotLess Grossman the process is the most scientific, environmental friendly way in the world.
@NotLess Grossman we have some of the highest ethical standards of producing oil in the world. Have a seat on the sidelines and leave this debate to the adults!
@NotLess Grossman The tar sands oil extraction is the worlds largest clean up project involving oil on the surface of the planet.
@NotLess Grossman USA buys 60% of their oil from Alberta fool
@NotLess Grossman I guess being self sufficient never crossed your brain. You may want to prop up OPEC and their “humane” rule I don’t.
It’s not unprecedented. Quebec did it why can’t Alberta.
“unprecedented” hahaha. What a joke! Long Live Alberta!
Unprecedented is one of their favorite buzzwords.
@Key K Well they always the fact about qc using it multiple times.
It sounds like the federal government doesn’t have a leg to stand on
Alberta needs to talk to Quebec, this will in the end be beneficial to all Provinces. Quebec has shown the way.
Too bad the government didn’t fight Quebec as hard.
Funny how Quebec gets special treatment isn’t it….
Where is the law when JT & his deputy keep breaking it?
Alberta is doing wha Lib. should be doing for ALL Canadians
Canada stopped being one country a long time ago. Different rules for different provinces, ethnic groups etc..
The feds have no business in alberta politics. This is coming from an Ontario resident.
agreed
When a looney and traitorous premier tries to destroy Confederation, you’d better believe the Feds should step in.
Alberta is done with Ottawa. Trudeau must go.
Maybe they’ll freeze their bank accounts.
Quebec has long had the same powers Alberta is fighting for but they won’t offer support as then they would not be special.
Not withstanding has been used by queerbec , and ottawa allows it for their separate and distinct culture. Why should the feds be aggrieved if AB uses it? Oh yes we’re western anglos.
Hey feds. Stay out of Alberta
The only concern politicians and eastern Canadians have is the Alberta energy money hose being turned off completely! As it should be
It’s not unprecedented, Quebec is the precedent……
