I can’t believe 10 people turned him away, and he was even offering them money!
@Alexander Bakken that happens
@Sara It’s easy to say that when local services are still functioning. But if I was cut off from the police I wouldn’t want anyone running around with an Axe in my home.
@randal gibbons god isnt real you child
It is New York, dude. Not Utah. You are risking your life by letting him in.
@John Smith You just post the same thing on every comment, hua? What is your life like?
Desperate times require desperate measures
Hope the American people take note and imagine what we could do collectively, if we all had empathy like this.
@Lisa Stark something is different now you say? Dementia tops my list
He should move, he deserves better than those things as neighbors.
@Jules Bower honk honk
That is what is called leadership. Great man
That’s crazy. He saved all those old people. I hope he didn’t get in trouble. I hope he gets rewarded.
The mechanic doesn’t care if he arrested. Can you imagine the news coverage if the DA prosecuted him?
@GreatLakeStateDestroyer Peterbilt fingers and thumbs, all republics are democracies, not all democracies are republics
@Ec Brown fingers are digits. USA is a republic.
EC Brown – All republics are NOT democracies. A republic is simply a form of government where the leaders get chosen by some method other than heredity (I.e. a monarchy).
The US is both a republic and a democracy, pretending the two are mutually exclusive is just a lie. We are not a direct democracy, but a representative democracy. Do you think it is a coincidence that the author of the Declaration of Independence was a member of the Democratic Party?
That man is a hero. He should be given a parade and the key to the city. And heaps of shame on the people who refused to help him.
Agree 👍🏼❤
I can’t even imagine. This is what we get for embracing individualism.
It is New York, dude. Not Utah. You are risking your life by letting him in.
John Smith – It’s Buffalo, not Bensonhurst, dude. Get a map.
@John Smith
So you’re ok with letting others die because of your fear and insecurity? That says more about you than you think.
He’s a real Hero going above and beyond, while freezing, to continue to look for others. ♡
Should have just kept going. Now he will go to jail.
@Blake The great one .. Jail for what?..
@whyputaname breaking the law
I bet he warmed up before going back out
He’s not a hero,! you don’t know what is the difference between heroe and basic instinct you morron
Rule .303 in action. If something needs done and you have the means available, you also have the responsibility to do it.
You do not need permission to do what obviously needs to be done. It’s more effective to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.
Beau of the Fifth Column. Look him up.
Asking for permission would have surely equated to the deaths of human beings. Bless this man!
Truth
@Blake The great one stop MAGAit
@Sparky’s Malarkey not if they don’t press charges.
It was strange for so many to deny that man shelter, therefore it happened for a reason. To save the lives of many more in need.
Thank you to all who turned that man away.
Seriously? Thanks for turning him away? I disagree. I understand what you mean but thanking unhelpful unfriendly people; they didn’t Nothing good.
Do you see?
Happened for a reason.
❤love ❤this comment.. i want this on my wall “Thank you to all who turned that man (or me) away.”
🎇🎇🎇Happy New Year to all… 🎇🎇🎇
It is New York, dude. Not Utah. You are risking your life by letting him in.
Here, in Western Europe, it’s about 8-10 degrees Celsius and a light rain with wind in some places.
P.S. Snow is disgusting 🥶🥶🥶 In a similar situation, I would break a school window too.
I agree. Snow is disgusting and I live in British Columbia and we have a lot of snow in the winter! Well, at least the ski hills are happy!
This man is awesome! It’s sad to hear that he went door to door for help and was told no. However in the end he did what needed to be done to survive and save others lives! God Bless!
What an amazing man…how could anyone not give shelter to someone that desperately needs it…SHAME!
@Hyperstrike Sure pal the robbers and axe murderers are always out during blizzard 🙄 smh
Right! I thought that was terrible. They had an opportunity to potentially save someone’s life and they chose to say no
@Steve Payne lol
Crime rate is very low in the US historically. People are just cold-hearted and scared of their shadow these days, even on Christmas.
I would have saved their lives. He saved the lives of many strangers he didn’t know. Many other stories of people inviting strangers into their homes and rescuing people. Much better people than the ones who refused to.
@onikin crime rate low here??
Horrible that he went to houses begging to come inside and sleep on the floor to save his life and they turned him away. Talk about “no room at the inn” at Christmas. Yet I’d bet those people who didn’t care if he died in the cold consider themselves worthy.
I’m glad the mayor got an apology for unfair criticism. I’ve been impressed by his televised briefings, they are clear, on target, concise, and thoroughly informed.
“City of good neighbours”: good at what?
@Jay Smith if you were a real man ud be able to protect yourself against a unarmed man in your house. Clearly not. Another weak simp whos going to raise weak kids
I expect those were also the ones who were looting
@Giovanni Bommarito 💯 This!
@Ray C I have a family and a home. I would 100% save a couple *freezing to death* where it is obvious many people are in trouble. And not even for money.
If the people I refused ended up dying horribly after, I would live in shame for the rest of my life.
There are many people who opened up their homes in this crisis. Those are the people I would want a community with.
The others are not good people. They were letting people die outside their home and refusing any assistance at all. They’re just people who do good things occasionally if it’s very convenient and easy with no risk.
Amazing story’ If the first few houses he asked to stay at said “YES” you can stay here and sleep on the floor’ This man would of never broke into the School and Ultimately wouldn’t of helped saved All the Other People stuck outside !! Funny how it worked out .
Yes! I just made this same comment on another thread…
Let’s go interview the “no room at the inn” folks. What makes you tick?
Wow what an amazing story that guy deserves an award amd a key to the city. Huge hero
@msn Future Congress is going to Destroy you.
@msn older generations have had their flaws being able to see the Heroic actions of some criminal behavior.
@Andy Mac you little rat 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@msn Oversight is not the same thing.
@msn bet you wouldn’t say that if he helped your loved one
I feel like he was exactly where he needed to be to help those people❤
‘The needs of the many outway the needs of the few (or the one)’.
Jay White, Buffalo resident, mechanic, hero, understands this concept. My respect sir. Faith in humanity restored… ❤️ from 🇨🇦
And my respect from 🇺🇸 ❤ well done sir!
Thank God people wouldn’t let him sleep on their floor.
Outweigh , he got that quote from star trek . Spock said it .
What a top bloke …when you’ve got so many knobs around esp on social media claiming to speak with the “masculine ethic” ffs..you may miss in the background the true legend putting these words into action ….well done sir for simply being a man .
This man is a hero
Jay is a True Hero. He definitely should get the highest civilian award available, from the President. At minimum, the city’s mayor!
What a hero! Good for him for survival and saving others’ lives! Imagine his pain knocking on doors and offering $500 to sleep on their floor. And no one said yes, he would have died out there.
