How To Stay Safe During Air Travel: A Doctor Weighs In | Morning Joe | MSNBC

  1. I skipped getting the secure-id. I’m never flying again. I’ll drive cross country.

  2. The doctor in New Orleans who got covid-19 his plane trip believes he got the it through his eyes
He was wearing a mask and I got to believe a doctor knows how to wear PPE why most people don’t

  3. “Airplanes are great vectors for transmitting disease all over the world” but listen to me and believe that whilst on the plane the diseased people are of less risk to you than inside the airport. smh

  4. The best solution for staying safe is and always has been to not fly commercial in the United States. Politicians and the FAA allow airlines to get away with all sorts of passenger, maintenance and employee abuses that make for a dangerous and unpleasant experience. I’m certain we can look forward to a new 35.00 mask fee along with a TSA digital rectal exam in the near future to keep us “safe” once they’ve paid out this years executive bonuses with bailout money.

  5. Sorry. I canโ€™t believe a single thing this โ€œexpertโ€ is saying. Planes are flying disease vectors.

    1. Wash your hands systematically and regularly. A study by MIT shows that if 65% of all air travelers would wash hands in the airport you reduce the risk of pandemic by over 40% …saving billions. Implementing handwashing sanitary gates and proper surface cleaning would cost less than 2USD per legs on your journey… affordable isn’it. Check Dr Nicolaides work at MIT.

    2. In the military, everyone washes hands before going into the dining hall. Install troughs (operated by step bars, not handles) in the airline gate area, and everyone washes hands before boarding the plane. Peer pressure is the enforcement strategy.

  6. Just give everyone a shot of clorox before getting on a plane. Boom! Problem solved. ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ’€

  7. Since half of people spreading Covid-19 are asymptomatic, how does checking temperatures do any good?

    1. Also airplanes tend to circulate 50 % of the air inside the cabin , thats a great way to get all infected , no matter if there is a HEPA filter or not , when that wont stop viruses .
They could also turn all seats on airplanes to 1st class , so there is real social distancing , packing 4 people on to a bench row 7 feet wide , is not a good idea .

    2. Stops people who ARE symptomatic but are trying and largely succeeding to hide it.

I missed 3 days of school in 4 years of high school. Grandpa’s funeral and my Military Reserve father going away for 60 days. Part of that is I’m a healthy person, great immune system. But part of that was when I did get kinda sick, I still went to school. Was it exactly courteous? Probably not, but it was the family philosophy. It would catch people trying to do what I did 18 years ago.

  8. Remember how the experts were telling passengers that the Titanic could not sink? It was technically impossible for it to go down.

  9. This “doctor” mentions the economy twice in the first minute. He also claims changing time zones and lack of sleep are among “lots of other factors” that make you sick besides being on an airplane. I’m happy to see in the comments that the vast majority my fellow MSNBC viewers can see through this BS.

  10. Say what you want. I am not getting on any plane no time soon. This is all about money not my life.

  11. The Airports in the USA look very basic. You really have to go abroad to see the very best Airports…

  12. Never mind the airplane ride right now. I get nervous when I spend my time long on the grocery check out line. These days, I avoid standing among people in one place too long. It is just common sense. Until scientific researchers tell me that I am safe in public, or a vaccine comes along for people, it is not my job to get the economy going for the feds.

  13. Always be skeptical when someone other than the doctors pushing you to go out and be at risk of coronavirus infection.

  14. He had no answer to her questions…”We will have to be vigilant” is not comforting. Everything is touched constantly. He ducks and bobs….never answering a question directly…Would you get on a flight?…”if I had to” he finally says ..thanks pal. I see dollar signs in your eyes quite frankly.

  15. You need to wear eye protection along with a mask when flying. The virus gets in through your eyes. It’s a closed in space with the virus floating around.
