A standoff continues at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong which has been held by protesters since last week. Police and protesters earlier engaged in an exchange of tear gas and fire bombs on the outskirts of campus, while those trying to leave were arrested on the spot. CNN’s Anna Coren reports.

Crazy how at 8:37 she talks about freedom of speech and as the camera zooms out, sprayed in black, the words “all I know is I won’t go speechless”
yeah cnn trying to make people think this is all about nothing much.
@A Team what do you mean?
You forgot to mention the petro bombs 💣
@Don’t Get Caught Slipp’n those “cleaning” people are organized for CCP television popaganda, would you go out and “clean” the street when there are tear gas and petro bombs ?
Izziebiz are you at ground zero?
@Izziebiz Ummm yes. If I’m currently on the street going to my destination and is being blocked by debris
Don’t Get Caught Slipp’n she said it multiple times
“All I know is I won’t go speechless…”
saw that too
6 months! This would’ve lasted maybe 6hrs in America. As soon as a possible physical threat is identified its game over out here.
@jxsilicon9 totally correct
@Carl Spackler I don’t, Hong Kong has one of the best violent crime stats of a major world city.
@Edgf Wfe Me too.
CNN should interview NYPD or LAPD fir how they will act in such a situation
Emmitt Bishop oh yeah fucking machine gun blasted their asses off
“This how they express themselves, with petrol bombs”
@孙笑川258 我觉得这人应该也被洗脑了,🐴的智障
That’s peanuts for rioters who trampled on others human rights & freedom. They are the best of rioters manipulated by uncle Sam.
Police has been too soft so the mobs become more and more violent! Had this happened in US. These mobs must have been shot to death months ago!
@marcus kappe They’ve been throwing Molotovs since July/August, although they really ramped up the production last month.
@marcus kappe There were guns, and many, many deaths. Are these kids ready for that? Because most of Hong Kong is not.
Want to retaliate to the government? Whole city electricity shutdown sounds like good idea. Go hack smthg.
Petrol bombs, not umbrellas. Bad Reporting
Having a CNN badge on her helmet might not be safe.
Judging from the buildings… She was quite safe. She was quite far away from the frontline. Yep, there will be stray tear gas now and then. But quite safe for sure. (Which is good)
@Teddy The Bear I think their point was having a symbol of socialism and dishonesty on her helmet probably wasn’t the best way to get along with people who are fighting a dishonest socialist fascist government.
@Martian Engineer Oh that.
Providing CNN speaks good about rioters, if CNN start blaming on them, she will get beaten real good
Rioters actually love western media. Unlike the cops, they are idle until they don’t want to be, so they have all the time in the world to approach reporters and ask them to portray things a certain way.
Journalists who haven’t spent time in Hong Kong wouldn’t know any better.
Well if this around oil it would be a civil war
Oh wow are you living in 2019?
한국인? ㄷ
How come the Feds annihilatited the “protestors” at Waco then..
They are terrorists lady get it right and it;s not their university it is the Hong Kong taxpayers
Terrorist kill people and ,have hostages, threats etc. Theres a distict difference but some actions do fall into other categories but not all
@venom5552111 Terrorism = The unlawful use of violence and intimidation and to answer your points they have murdered a 70 year man ,set another on fire ,taken hostages and they don’t make threats but beat up anyone that disagrees with them , countless abuse of HK citizens ..stop making excuses for these inhuman kids.
CNN: Cheap Nasty News ! Fake, Bias, and Lying all the time!
Agree coz she isn’t a politician
armed with umbrellas…..really?
“we’re out of range”
if you see the white fog, you definetly in range!
Is this the channel even Trump doesn’t trust.
they are rioters , not protestors , using deadly weapons like fire bombs
The so call hongkongers turned HongKong into hell! I feel sad for HongKong.
I think they’re doing the right thing. Liberty and freedom over communism
Dean Thomas lol communism is not the best but it’s not like capitalism is any better
“financial capital reduced to this” bootlicker choice of words
Cameraman doesn’t want any part of this lady’s overly heroic journalism xD
The world needs to give those peoples weapons to fight back. or let those come to the US to be a temporary citizen.
