@Paula Landry my father’s family settled the Kentucky area starting in the early 1830s. My grandfather and his brothers took their families to Michigan during the Depression. My dad moved us to Arizona in 1969. I went back to Murray, KY with him in 2003 so he could visit old relatives. The stories I heard growing up were surreal but true. Don’t know why anyone stays there if they can get out.

They take the best advantage of the resources available, to make money.
The key resources, is a healthy efficient population and a healthy economy.
They can’t do it in isolation.
They should be smart enough to recognise their best long term resource needed for continuing their wealth building.
Your cheap sound bites defending those that ensure your standard of living is lower so they can have an extra couple of billion just makes you appear foolish.
