Heated debate over election interference during question period

After Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged to appoint an "independent special rapporteur" to investigate allegations of foreign interference in Canada on Monday, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre criticized the moved in question period as "a fake new position" that the Liberals invented.

Opposition parties continued to push the government to open a public inquiry into the matter and accused the government of "covering-up the truth."

  1. Quick fix . Present situation To join a political party. You must be a resident of Canada (no, you donโ€™t even need to be a citizen, just a permanent resident in Canada). Make it a citizen.

  2. I for one support a public inquiry to have openness and transparency in our electoral process, ensuring it’s free from foreign interference from potential adversaries.
    Anyone else agree?

    1. You have that already, the foreign interference is something completely different and has to do with security. If there is full transparency in that then it would make it easier for them to avoid being detected.

    2. โ€‹@CraZY pRIME Nope. They would sworn to secrecy upon seeing the evidence. The difference would be that the results of the inquiry would be non partisan.

  3. We need another election now. And after that, hold everyone that is involved in wrongdoing accountable. The citizens of this country deserve better than this shameful mess.

    1. You guys make me laugh. Just because Poilievre says it you think it must be true?

Give me strength. Poilievre is a liar.

  4. Waiting for Trudeaus entire cabinet to start quitting in droves as they dont wanna be in the hot seat anymore…

    1. This might be scandal #9 or possibly #10. There maybe some other scandals that have taken place before this scandal but we just haven’t heard of it yet. I bet there is a pile of stuff that has taken place that hasn’t floated to the surface yet. The smell is always the same.

  5. Trudeau investigating Trudeau … We’ve seen this before.ย  His time is nearly up. Hold the line folks.

    1. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… hold the line. Did you pee on the war memorial, or just cheer on those that did?

  6. I Don’t support any political party but I think that any question on the legitimacy of our democracy should be taken seriously and the inquiry should be made public so the public can hear what happened to our right to vote

  7. Why is there a debate about whether a public inquiry should be transparent and unbiased? Youโ€™d think that would be the starting point

  8. JT knows he’s in big trouble that why he’s not present at this inquiry. Making excuses is what JT always does.

  9. If the NDP continues to prop up this government I donโ€™t see them returning to the house after the next election theyโ€™ve lost my vote

  10. โ€œNo matter how paranoid or conspiracy-minded you are, what the government is actually doing is worse than you can imagine.โ€ โ€” William Blum

  11. This isnt about the opposition, its about truth and transparency. Something the entire liberal party is failing badly at. Each and every one of these scoundrels needs to be held accountable.

  12. The hilarious aspect of calling for an public inquiry is that all the information is sensitive and can not be discussed in public – waste of time and money ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„
