So sad that the media laughs at the thought of americans making a living wage or elderly people getting better health care.
@Rick Simon Tell you what. Prove you’re an Americans and a patriot.
What’s the birthdate of the U.S.A.?
@True Patriot
Answering a question with a question doesn’t work. Do you agree that Trump is the biggest risk to U.S. security, and that Peter Strzok must get his job back?
Mr. Sanders, let me begin my three part apology by saying, I think you’re a wonderful human being.
@MuchoEd So the government is ok to handle police fire and the military but definitely not able to handle providing healthcare for its citizens or higher education. I am trying to understand why you think using our tax money to actually help Americans is such a bad idea.
@Robert Miller Trump was a spender, that’s for sure. But, we did complain about it. It’s just easier to take when things are going well.
All of the countries with free healthcare, with the exception of one oil rich country, are our allies that enjoy our protection. We can’t afford the military of the #1 superpower and free healthcare. Our allies don’t have this concern. That is why other free countries can afford free healthcare.
We had been at war since the 90’s, for 30 years. Not all wars are mutually destructive. We now have to deal with Russia and China. They hopefully won’t be mutually destructive either and even if we don’t go to war, it will cost us trillions. Because democrats almost always go on an apology tour when they’re in power. Democrat voters see this as compassion. Dictators see this for what it is, weakness. This could have easily been avoided.
Trumps TCJA cut taxes for the bottom 80% of individuals, especially the bottom 20%. The top 20% received very little tax benefit. Corporations and big business don’t pay taxes. Like any other expense, they are passed on to the consumer and employee.
Raising corporate taxes hurts smaller businesses that can’t pass the additional expenses along. Trump’s tax cuts not only lowered taxes, it increased tax revenue. More people working means more people paying taxes.
Democrat voters can’t seem to grasp that concept. Your politicians know, though. But, they’re more interested in controlling the population. They don’t care about your welfare financially, medically or otherwise.
They pacify you with lies and general verbiage, but read their policies. After spending trillions in just the first 18 months, can you name one policy that actually benefits the American People?
@MuchoEd The bill they just passed also i did not read your entire book of right wing talking points because i have heard it all before. I could go step bye step and correct you but what’s the point nothing i say will ever change your mind right wingers have destroyed debate in this country when facts logic and reasoning no longer have any meaning why bother wasting my time.
Why do headliners always poke fun at Bernie? I never see those same headlines with Manchin. CNN is so laughable
@Johan Van der Pants Bernie’s not against expanding health care or putting billions of dollars toward renewable energy sources. The bill just doesn’t go far enough for him. So he’s not voting against his interest when he votes on these bills. Joe M on the other hand has investments in the oil industry so to vote on a bill that puts billions into renewable energy is him voting against his personal interest which is the main problem. Bernie accept because some help is better than none and some of the missing elements from the BBB bill can be placed in future bills but blocking a bill that has things your country needs because your but hurt is just stupid and very republican. I feel Bernie!
@Robert Wright you can say all day that he is doing what is right, but if he is against every bill that he votes yes on he is wrong. He could make a stand when he sees that half of the spending in these bills that they give such flowery names to for public support don’t go to that cause at all. He could say that they want 800 billion for climate change, but only 400 of that is allocated for any effort on that front. Or that the majority of the economic incentives for green energy are going to the mega corporations and will not benefit the working class at all. But that would require him to not just cave on an issue and actually have a spine.
@Johan Van der Pants being for everything in the bill but not thinking it goes far enough is not voting on a bill your against he agrees with the bill. So you can keep saying he doesn’t but he does he doesn’t think it goes far enough. He votes NO on tax cuts for the rich because he’s against those bills. There’s an obvious different you can’t change that to make your point.
Thing is, I agree with sanders on his points and I think we do need to address those problems. Urgently. But this bill wasn’t designed to address thise problems. For that matter I don’t know if those things can be addressed by this bill since it has to be passed in this way and to truly address those things it’d need to expand beyond what can be passed by way of reconciliation. So I get sanders and totally agree with him but I just would argue that these problems need to be addressed in a full bill.
@The Hermit – Whining, eh. Ok.
@RapscallionXXX If not whining, then what do you call your negative comments against this administration, Dems, and the only people who are trying to save our nation THIS MIDTERM?
@The Hermit – I call it ‘negative comments’, my fellow hermit. I see where yer comin’ from. But another chance to use reconciliation could be years away. The stars were in alignment.
@The Hermit we’re all on the Democrats’s side here!
You are right, cause we need to understand the limitations of what the current senate will “give”.
Big corporations buy elections & politicians work for them, but they need our votes.
If we stay remain “satisfied” with the crumbs they throw at us, we’ll only get crumbs!
The first clue Bernie would not be thrilled by it is that Manchin and Sinema support it.
“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Matthew 5:38-39`°
It’s sad the only person in the house who fight for the average America is been laughed at? Bernie Sanders understand the struggle of the ordinary America. He is the man who was supposed to be president. It’s sad.
I laughed at him too and still am.
@In the name of Jesus Christ Jesus is fictional.
@Red Rick Actually probably not. He may not have been anyone special but it’s pretty reasonable to assume he existed
@Generally, Tesseract False. There is no record of anyone in history ever claiming to know him. His story is generic and appropriated from previous time periods.
He knows the rich will benefit and the working class will be pushed down further
@Brother Mine ” The crisis has always been about the unaffordability of the monthly repayments for people who don’t have much income”
then they shouldnt have taken out the loans
they signed the contract not the american tax paying ppl
@Cid Sapient : When they agreed to the loans, they didn’t know they wouldn’t be able to afford the repayments. Your argument neglects the fact that other Americans may declare bankruptcy to solve a financial crisis when they can’t afford to repay a loan, but the law doesn’t allow that solution when the loan was a student loan. If you want to be consistent, you need to advocate eliminating the bankruptcy solution for everyone else too.
@Cid Sapient : Not necessarily. The other option is to allow the student debtors to declare bankruptcy like all other Americans have the legal right to do when they can’t afford to pay back a loan. By the way, which “ppl” are you concerned about when it comes to higher taxes? Would you be okay with raising taxes on banks?
I’m confused how they twisted Bernie sanders saying it’s not a good thing into “that’s a good thing he said that”
@Master of Mashup For some of these red States it really is radical. I think as progressives we have to realize not everybody already agree with us. Like in Iowa 15 is literally more then double what it is now. No politician wants to sell that to business owners. Which is why I was personally annoyed when Democrats didn’t settle for 12 in 2021 if I remember correctly manchin and some GOP were on board with 12. But instead of 12 which I’m sure people in Iowa would have liked. They have nothing. And Democrats and Bernie seem to have realized that. It’s literally this bill or nothing.
@Tim What they said is that it’s good for Democrats running in red States and for Mansion for re-election. Since Bernie not liking it makes the bill not seem super liberal or “socialist”. Which means it won’t look bad for them when they vote for it which is good for Democrats.
@Mike Hancho … Isn’t it obvious Mike… they need to spend 300 billion dollars to reduce the deficit… flawless logic
@william wayne That’s not true, subsides were offer to offset small businesses concerns.
Isn’t inflation likely to pass 9% when the new figures come out? Gas prices might’ve come down slightly, but everything else is going up, up, up.
@Cid Sapient 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@Bdog0004 when demand goes up usually the price goes up
but thats not inflation
supply and demand will impact inflation, it often corrects inflation in unregulated markets
@Cody Russow cool story lol
@Cody Russow “big corporations collecting less profit during covid.”
“yes record profits then and now”
so how did they collect record profits and less profits at the same time, skippy? lol
You know it’s bad when Bernie is complaining about it.
@Deborah Freedman it’s fine. I’m just waiting for this party to be thrown out of power. Thank God less the 3 months left.
It’s a Democrat pay raise bill
@Deborah Freedman Tell me, how Manchin getting a 6-million-dollar pipeline through his state, his sign on bonus, helps the environment? I thought pipelines were bad…Now they’re good?

I just want to take a moment to thank the people of Vermont for bringing/keeping Bernie in the Senate. There are other politicians out there with integrity but they can’t get elected because their electorate are just a herd of sheep.
@Practical I Ching That is a conspiracy theory. I don’t think that “Bernie secretly wants to set up a totalitarian government modeled after Venezuela” is something that rational people believe. We can agree to disagree about this.
@J I’m glad to hear that you are concerned about the wealth gap. Since we are currently experiencing a record high gap on a trajectory that is objectively unsustainable. What do you suggest to fix it?
We have 15 parties in our parliament 🇩🇰
So you heard of Indiana.
Go Bernie, respect for the senator for speaking out for the common people in the face of tyranny of establishment in both parties.
And yet that hack will still vote for the bill.
@Varsity Athlete True, he likely will be paid well for his silence.
He still voted for you, no principle in these people…

I love the way they discuss deceit like it’s a good thing to deceive in order to get America to take on more debt.
@Red Rick Biden is a brilliant and coherent leader with impeccable poise and speaking abilities.
@Seth Seymour Your failure is unstoppable.
@Red Rick That was original and thoughtful, thanks.
@Seth Seymour even if i try i just cant like the other comments from u tho lol
It’s about time Bernie! We’ve been saying this for years!

He still voted for it like a good cult member

Bernie understands that when democrats show up to the negotiation table with an already compromised position, democrats still end up losing, even when they “win.” You don’t show up to negotiations asking for the bare minimum you want to achieve. Republicans learned this lesson a long time ago, and they’ve been far more effective achieving their goals as a result. Democrats need to grow a set and start fighting on the same level as Republicans. Otherwise we’ll just keep losing ground decade after decade like we have the last 40 years. The era of neoliberalism in the democratic party has given the Republicans a huge advantage across the board from the local to the federal level.

The media laughing at this is not cute.

@Ronnie They auto respond to comments made by the OPs…From one word to a paragraph, it makes no difference, it will always be a different name but the same comment.

You spoke my thoughts. They literally think it’s funny. It shows a lack of empathy and understanding of how this legislation actually impacts the lives of the American people and voters. It shows a smug privilege and how our of touch they are with many people/voters. Furthermore, why do they have to call Sanders “angry” or “upset”? Instead of disappointed? Disappointment is validated, even frustration, but painting him as “angry” is just a way to shrug off his very valid point.
Hosts be like: Look at that crazy Bernie Sanders, he’s concerned about working class people. What a joke, haha!
Also CNN: why no one watch us? 😭
Dude voted yes on the bill. This old dinosaur shouldn’t be given this much attention by CNN
@Tom This bill wasn’t perfect, but it was better than nothing. Nothing is what we would have gotten passed if he voted no.
@cyAnne essence I understand but why cry and scream about it after voting yes. And why does CNN give this dinosaur such a platform. Interview a young politician that praises this bill
Bernie thank you for continuing to advocate for the poor!
