I have to say, I’m extremely glad that Rhodes and his buddies were found guilty of several felonies (especially Rhodes and Meggs for seditious conspiracy). I also have to say that I have a bit of respect for these two lawyers (Rhodes’ lawyers). They clearly answered the questions posed to them, and they didn’t run off on weird tangents, lambast the DOJ or the Biden admin, or climb on any bizarre soap-boxes. They did their job, and they lost the case. Now they’ll appeal, as is the right of their client. But this was certainly a big, important step, and win for all of us in the United States.
One point brought up by his lawyers is that Rhodes is a Yale educated lawyer (basically he’s an “elite”), and that he has studied, and knows and understands the U.S. Constitution. That being said, planning, preparing, and attempting to violently overthrow the government, even if you “believe” you are acting under the auspices of the Constitution, is still “seditious conspiracy”. Period.

@Dirt City MTB – I agree with the premise of appealing over witnesses or evidence but both lawyers emphatically stated multiple times that their clients got a fair trial, the jury did their job, and the judge did a great job of overseeing everything. So, I agree with your assessment of their appeal – ridiculous! Their client should of pulled an O.J. and let his lawyers do the talking.
@Dirt City MTB yeah, they basically need to go to the appeals and say “the judge (as a matter of law) ruled against evidence that would have vindicated our client” and basically say the Judge made egregious legal errors that actively contributed to the verdict the jury handed down, which is massively rare.
@Shamanbear Two but if the judge found the evidence to not be credible and witnesses unreliable, then does it matter. Both sides have to submit evidence and witnesses. Obviously, it was found that they did not have what they thought they had and that so called evidence was dismissed.
@Dirt City MTB – I did not hear them give any indication that they thought the judge was unfair but only that they didn’t get everything they wanted from Santa. I’m sure the DOJ had the same issues. Rhodes’ biggest mistake was thinking that because he had a Yale law degree, he knew what he was going.

These lawyers can go and appeal the criminals conviction all they want, but after he’s served at least the 20 years! Which is what I hope they give him… The maximum. He’s a traitor to this country, he committed a seditious act and frankly he belongs in prison. He’s an evil person, if it were me he would get life…. He just pleaded out a sexual assault case recently. 20+ adult accusers and minors too.
