“Now we’re getting it to politics” correct, that is your job and we are asking you to do it
It’s also funny how even mentioning AR-15s is “getting into politics”. Well, even if that’s the case, GET INTO IT.
and paying you to do it!!!
I think the problem is right there in your comment, instead of asking them, we need to tell them. Or perhaps order them.
Republican Mike Turner announced his support for a ban on the sales of military style weapons following theDeadly
MassShooting in downtown Dayton Ohio on August 4, 2019 after he discovered his daughter was almost one of the casualties.
“I believe these are necessary steps forward in protecting our country and a testament to American values, which include protecting human life,” Turner said in a statement
Turner, a Dayton native, said he would also support legislation placing restrictions on high-capacity magazines as well as so-called red-flag laws, which allow police and family members to “quickly identify people who are dangerous and remove their ability to harm others.
Turner made this statement after he found out that his teenage daughter was across the street from the shooting that night and she had just missed being out on the street when the shootingStarted by just seconds.
So now all of a sudden he cares. He should have cared back in 2012 when 20 babies were the victims in the Sandy Hook shooting. We all should have cared.
@Antonio Askew wanna bet and yes the problem is just because you don’t and fun fact hunting it’s still used and no not like I think it’s something but your delusional if you think it’s nothing and by the way ok war of 1812 and the civil war on America’s soil that’s what was used so don’t quote some nonsense
@Antonio Askew you actually have no idea and sure they will very depending on caliber and accuracy from whatever country but the better made and more accurate was made in America
@Antonio Askew and sure some things are updated like 50 caliber hollow point but speed loaders now and solid powder and sure you have to load it from the top but lots of things are still used and special season for hunting so like one will be for bow or rifle and yes you actually use a bow or whatever and the reason is all the jokes and sure more modern are better that doesn’t mean anything
Action speaks louder than mere words.
YUP!!!! ESPECIALLY NOW!!!!
@Kyle OH, I don’t agree, Kyle. I think the sound of an AR-47 going off into a classroom full of children is alot louder.
@Rodney Yone Nope…wrong, Rodney. An AR-47 going off into a classroom of children is a helluva lot louder.
He prefers dancing around the question instead of to give a direct answer about the issue. That’s mean no resolution will be taking. My heart goes for these innocent people this is sad!
@armorboy24 Doe, wtf, deflection and conflation in no way actually answers the question that was asked.
@Robert Smith, the mass shooter of the Tops grocery store in Buffalo was engaged by an armed store security officer who shot him multiple times, to no effect because the mass shooter was clad in body armor. The security officer was then shot to death by the mass shooter but you allege that a store customer claimed that if they were allowed to carry a gun, that the mass shooting there would not have happened? Seriously?!?
Politicians saying “let’s not discuss politics” is ridiculous. It’s literally their job.
@Francis Hurley You are right. But I think the tax was effectively a ban because as you correctly stated 200 dollars was a lot of money back then. The point though is during the days of Dillinger and Machine Gun Kelly the government enacted legislation to do something about these gangsters weapon of choice. You are also correct. It is difficult to buy a machine gun. Actually machine guns made after 1986 cannot legally be sold.
No its right on.
@Brett Cordes BS, they will say it’s never time, don’t fall for that.
Politicians, politics. GOP, sounds familiar? If they do not want to talk politics, then they have no business to be politicians
Politicians feigning anger when asked about policy is the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever heard.
“Let’s not get into politics”… Sir, you are an elected politician.
Listening to these politicians skirt around reasons to actually take any sort of action makes me sick. If one of their kids were in the building and was killed they’d be singing a different tune. No empathy for anyone unless it touches them.
If politicians don’t want to focus on politics, then they can get another job.
This inaction is what happens when lobbyists are able to dump millions and billions of dollars to keep members of congress in their pockets.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
@graphosxpYou look them up and name them.
We should demand & require Congress & Senators to go to a school shooting site and personally see the results of their inaction–the bloody scene and agony of the parents and community. Then tell us while at the scene “So sorry, but we will continue to do nothing for you or others as it’s too political.”
Exactly. They need to see the destroyed 9-year old bodies and not look away. They are cowards.
It’s so sad that children’s and very nice people are dying but nobody wants to do anything about it.
@Brett Cordes Tell me why this isn’t happening at this scale in, let’s say, Europe? There are no words to explain the ignorance or just plain stupidity of Americans defending this system.
GOP republicans don’t want to do anything about it you mean
Real talk,. my heart goes out to the families of the victims of this uncalled for shooting. With that said:
It’s amazing to hear the GOP cry out for action after a shooting in one of the “Red States”. I see TN Senator Josh Hawley (R) call out President Biden to open an investigation, calling this shooting a “Hate Crime” SIMPLY because the shooting took place at a Christian School/Church.
First of all, Sen. Hawley just neglected to tell the fact that the shooter, according to Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake, was under a “doctor’s care for an emotional disorder”. THAT would’ve been a PERFECT reason NOT to sell this person a weapon!
Secondly, President Biden has been calling for a ban on assault weapons for a while, in which has fallen on deaf ears, or in this case, GOP deaf ears. This is exactly why Sen. Graham REFUSED to answer the question, because the GOP refuse to do anything about it because they’re hiding behind the 2nd Amendment.
Third, speaking OF the 2nd Amendment, the “Right to Bear Arms” was supposed to be used for people trying to protect their family, property, etc. It was NOT meant for tragedies like this, Uvalde, OR Sandy Hook to occur! Also, an unemployed 28 year old still living with their parents buying 7 or more guns and they didn’t even NOTICE!?
Finally, HOW are they going to charge the shooter for a “Hate Crime”, WHEN THE SHOOTER IS DEAD!?
The GOP REALLY need to get their facts AND priorities straight. Sen. Graham says “Let’s not get into politics.”
“Let’s not get into politics”? THAT IS YOUR JOB, STUPID!
@Corey this black or white speaking goes nowhere. Nobody wants to ban all guns, but why not do checks for people buying them? The second amendment says nothing about distributing guns without control. You need a driving license to drive a car, why not just register somewhere to own a gun? People with good faith and healthy mentally should not have any problems at all with it.
Hawley is from Missouri
The only way these pathetic politicians will ban assault weapons is if it happens to them personally . PERIOD
@David Dushane we all know what common sense reform is code for quit the gaslight
No.Not even then.
@Seksee Marcus KiddNo.How do you explain cops being shot everyday?
The problem with all these Republicans whose “heart goes out” to all these families who lose someone is that too much of their hearts are gone now… heartless politicians are useless.
Politicians saying we shouldn’t talk about politics is like an Athlete saying that we shouldn’t talk sports after a blow out loss during the playoffs during a post game press conference.
He’s says he’s heart goes out.
He’s despicable
He’s heart should go out
💔
You know, people tend not to care when the issue isn’t affecting them directly. These politicians do not care because it’s us at our schools that’s being affected not theirs.
“We should not punish law abiding citizens. The brutal deaths of children are the price we pay. “
” Right now we’re focusing on the families”… them saying this is like your parent telling you “no later, I’ll do xyz later” and of course they never do they just say it to get you off their case. When ARE they going to deal with it?
