    1. @Anne Walden I don’t mind his having the secret service guarding him. That will insure he has a long life in jail. Poor Trump will have time on his hands behind bars.

    1. @Gearóid T Oh my, you had me going for a second! You are hilarious!!
At first I thought how insane and ignorant this person must be, but then after reading your entire comment I realized you were be factitious/sarcastic.
      You almost got me.
      Almost.

  1. But the Emoluments Act is, like the Hatch Act, a “ So What?” law. There are no penalties, unless they come from the voters. Sick ‘em.

    1. @Ian Ashmore illegal, and prosecution are 2 different things. Many people break the law, but you are right on 2 factors that keep consequences from certain people that do.

    2. @Rune-Thorne im not foolish enough to believe that a politician would help me or the majority of the peon american citizens

  2. Of course there was – duh! Having staffed governmental oversight positions – oxymoron of course – with his “creatures” = he knew that this would not be challenged nor subject to any real oversight while in office – which as we see he did not anticipate leaving. So just another example of how the supposed “man of the people” was in truth the swampiest of the swamp. 🤫

  3. What is Donald charging Secret Service currently to protect he AND his family? As a perk of being a former President, they receive continued protection and other benefits, while the taxpayers continue to foot the bill for these criminals.

    1. @Doug Graham why are the secret service guarding his properties ? Not him , his crappy over-valued properties … How much is he charging his Mar-a-Lago SS detail to guard the place while he is elsewhere

  4. Isn’t it funny how our “lawmakers” don’t ever follow the laws they pass & hold us accountable for?
He & his entire family did this for YEARS with no accountability!

    1. @gacj2010 I hope Trump runs again. He brought out 80+ million Democrats, Republicans and Independents all banded together to vote against the Stable Genius and the GOP in 2020. He’ll probably incite 90 million or more this time, maybe even 100 million, to vote against him!

    1. Lol. That was just yo dupe his supporters. Funny thing nobody talks about as well…he skipped donating his final 1/4ly check. 😄

  5. The fed govt lodging rate is between 172 and 257. Shouldn’t matter what the hovel charged, they should only have paid up to the fed rate.

  6. its the perfect scam. his company makes money from him playing golf. of course he ALWAYS goes to HIS golf courses, and then charges taxpayers for the hotel rooms for the Secret Service and other staff.

    1. He charges for the bottled water they drink and the golf carts they tail him on … They guard Mar-a-Lardo when he isn’t there and they pay rent

  7. There was talk during trump’s administration about the overcharge for rooms for the secret service and nothing was done about it then. Trump gets away with everything even now that he’s a private citizen 🙄 😒

  8. Trump’s process wasn’t “what is a reasonable rate for Secret Service to pay at his resorts to protect him” – it was “what exorbitant rates can we charge them and get away with it?”

    1. They deserve it. I’d charge them more. God bless trump for removing funds from the people who protect Biden

    2. Wait till you hear about their bar Tab. Trump could move to one of his businesses when monthly revenues were down at the hotel.

  9. The golf trips were NEVER about golf. It was getting 50 secret service rooms for 4 days at the rack rate. Plus room service charges. Of course.

  10. There are per diem rates for every city and state and even overseas when you travel overseas. The treasury should simply request a refund plus interest on the overpayments. That’s a simple solution for the audit section of the Treasury.

    1. Need paperwork and proof as to what charges should have been vs what was charged and for how many people. Why is the government paying 60 to 100 dollars for 1 hammer. No one talking about this. WHY?

    2. The paperwork was the hotel’s ledger. Look, everything doesn’t have to be hair on fire. If he deliberately overcharged the government, there are also penalties for that. We mustn’t argue over elementary accounting. I have no idea what you are talking about relative to hammers. In this case of the hammers, prior to awarding the contract, RFQ goes out and due diligence is conducted. Any overcharges must be pre-approved otherwise the government pays the agreed upon price. Again, accounting 101. Have a nice day.

  11. Doesn’t Donnie have the Oath Keepers to keep him safe?Oh,right, they are all going to prison because they believed his lies.
