Guilty Verdict For Stone A Lesson To Trump On Witness Tampering | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC

Rachel Maddow points out that on the same day that long time Donald Trump political adviser Roger Stone was convicted of felony charges, including witness tampering, Donald Trump bumbled into his own impeachment proceedings by insulting the witness while she was still on the stand, risking the addition of witness tampering as an article of impeachment. Guilty Verdict For Stone A Lesson To Trump On Witness Tampering | Rachel Maddow | MSNBC

  1. I really feel like Stone might be the precedent set. Lets get some RICO charges on all these Rep. enablers when this really starts rolling.

    1. The RICO line is funny, but I think it will set a very dangerous precedent to prosecute congresspeople for acting within what they view as their job capacity. Republican congresspeople largely come from districts that Donny won, so they probably view defending him as representing their constituents. They’re wrong, but it makes a certain amount of sense for them to think that way.

    2. @byurBUDdy I think it’s safe to say there’s enough evidence to draft articles of impeachment. At the very least, we’ve seen clear evidence of an attempt to solicit a bribe. People go to prison every day for that, and bribery is specifically listed in the Constitution, so assuming a bribery article is coming is pretty safe ground. We can argue all day and probably not persuade a single person about any of the other stuff, because high crimes and misdemeanors is nebulous, but bribery isn’t. It’s clear, just like treason.
There really isn’t a conspiracy to impeach the POTUS, unless you’ve arrived at the point where following the law and Constitution upon which it’s based is somehow a conspiracy, and if that’s where you are then we really can’t have a conversation because we lack the common ground to have one.

    3. @byurBUDdy I’ve seen weak trolls but you’re bottom of the barrel. Take a little more pride in what you do from here on out, kiddo.

    4. +Cloud 9 I strongly support the general sentiment, so long of course that it’s all under the law. It was a major mistake for the US when Ford pardoned Nixon. You’ll hear a huge appeal to “time to heal”, but to extend the metaphor, the sequellae in the Republican Party to pardoning Nixon is evidence that you cannot “heal” major compound fractures of the skeletal system without going in with some major surgical techniques.

    1. @call me Ishmael I’m all in! Also have personally gotten 6 people registered! They had just given up! You’ve got to fight! Then vote…there is no excuse!

    2. robj don’t be fooled buddy by the liberal media. Trump supporters are a silent majority. We are of all races. Trump 2020 💪🏿

  2. Sh”t just got real for Trump and his partners in crime. And I have the feeling that it’s going to get even “realer.”😆

    1. Gary Conner
You mean he’s looking STUPID in the face! Every time they interviewed this guy, he came across as smug, with a definite sense of entitlement. He seemed to make light of the charges against him, they way people do when they feel they have a ace in the hole, or one last card to play. He’s from the Nixon era and calls himself the “Original Dirty Trickster”. I wonder if it’s all so funny now. At this point he like Manafort and Flynn are cryptonite to Trump. Yes Trump could pardon them but to do so at any time in the near further strengthens the witness tampering and obstruction of justice charges charges against him.
They can roll the dice, tell the truth and take their medicine or lie and wait for the Trump pardon. 🎲 🎲

    2. We, the majority in this country, will make it very real and very clear to the Republican party – voting BLUE across the board in 2020!

    1. @TheDesertsweeper While Schiff conducts private proceedings in the basement of the capitol, and personally decides who will appear and who won’t, and what questions can be asked and which ones can’t. Shove your trash where it belongs.

    2. @TheDesertsweeper And they don’t have to,i wish people would do their research and know just exactly what the executive branch can do.Anyone with a half wit about the constitution would know.RESEARCH!

    3. @Tia Allen Can the White House ignore subpoena?
Subpoenas. Congressional rules empower all its standing committees with the authority to compel witnesses to produce testimony and documents for subjects under its jurisdiction. … In fact, many legal rights usually associated with a judicial subpoena do not apply to a Congressional subpoena. There’s your answer. It only takes 5 seconds to type it in google.Key word…CONGRESSIONAL.

  3. leave it to trumputin to convict himself, and his loud mouth on that call to sondland caused him to be heard by witnesses, lol. ty dr maddow.

    1. mary jones: Just to let you know Israel and Saudi Arabia are the Fearless Leaders buddies, please do some research it will amaze you. I mean mind boggling to say the least. Here is one article I will share, the author on another article was hoping this would have gotten out before he was elected, not sure if it would have helped or not, they were too busy about the emails. In reality the info. below is much more important. So, to sum it up it’s really not so much about Putin as it is the other 2 countries I mentioned.

    2. @Janette Smith Whatever else Israel is, it is a democracy. And no, this is not about Israel or Saudi Arabia. It’s about RUSSIAN influence in the 2016 and 2020 elections. Stop trying to blame everything on Israel. It just makes you sound like a Nazi.

    3. I miss the good old days when America could invest in itself and Ivanka went on play dates with Putin’s squeeze. https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a27259438/oleg-deripaska-kentucky-aluminum-mitch-mcconnell-rand-paul/ Kentucky might be going into business with the Russian mafia. Not the rough-and-tumble “Godfather” crowd with the bent noses and such names like Tessio, Barzini and Luca Brasi. If all goes according to plan, by the middle of the year, we’ll be in business with Oleg Deripaska, a buddy of Vladimir Putin.

      https://www.politifact.com/facebook-fact-checks/statements/2019/feb/14/facebook-posts/fact-checking-claim-mitch-mcconnells-biggest-donor/

Who is Len Blavatnik and how much did he donate to McConnell?

Blavatnik emigrated to the United States with his family in the late 1970s and returned to Russia in the late ’80s as the Soviet Union began to collapse. His U.S.-based holding companies — Access Industries Inc. and AI-Altep Holdings Inc. — are conduits for his largest political contributions, according to Federal Election Commission records.

In 2015-16, Blavatnik’s contributions went to GOP PACs and top Republican leaders, including McConnell, according to FEC records.

In that cycle, his companies contributed over $6.3 million, with $2.5 million going to McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund. In 2017, Blavatnik donated another $1 million to the committee, records show, bringing the total to $3.5 million.

While Blavatnik certainly donated a lot of money to McConnell’s committee, he is nowhere near the majority leader’s highest contributor. In the 2017-18 cycle alone, at least two other donors, Sheldon D. Adelson and Miriam Adelson, gave $25 million (a piece) to his leadership fund.

    1. @Hairy Balling well if you never had to do time you dont know 5 years will feel like a life time!! LMAO 😝😝😝😝😝 tell Stone to have fin going that??? 😁😁😁

  4. Stable genius Trump is an egomaniac , he just committed another crime in the eyes of the public by tampering with a federal witness.

    1. @Frank Smith After evidence given in the Stone case it’s been proven trump lied in writing to Mueller. Clinton has been investigated many times. Please stop shouting Mr Smith it doesn’t change fracts

    1. @Frantic Skitzoman33 Most cults in the 70’s were religious cults, and most religions have a social/communal aspect to them. A precursory read of Christ’s Sermon on the Mount is an example of this.

Similarly, the Republican Trump cult has a dangerous, quasi-religious tone to it (GEOTUS), and its members are truly in need of some type of intense psychological deprogramming and social reintroduction.

    1. DIKGOESINYA trump is the antichrist actually he said “I’m the chosen one” check out my latest video for proof (the false prophet will claim to be our saviors)

    2. @Jericho Thirteen trump is not a genius, not a billionaire, and certainly the most beloved president in history. He is the evil one and has no soul. I don’t know if you have a functioning brain or you are just a white nationalist

    3. @Me everything I said was a fact that is provable. I know you hate facts but there it is. Trump brings us all together. You see white nationalists and rascists everywher while having never actually seen rasicm or white nationalism as they are things of the past.

    1. @Mark bodman Okay then.Comrade bodman, since you do not see anything wrong you must want things to stay the same. Best of luck with that.
You realize the only constant is change.
Neither Mr. Putin nor that orange Julius is offering that.
It is saveable definitely won’t be easy too bad you like it the way it is.

    1. If Trump says that that would be a very good way to get Rodger Stone to cooperate with the prosecution in exchange for Less jail time

    1. @Frantic Skitzoman33 I think, that when you put your friends up to some of their illegal activities, that you bear some of the guilt as well.

    1. Freddy Freedom What does trump’s inherited wealth have to do with his ability to run a country? And keep in mind his 8 or so bankruptcies, so “being a good businessman” isn’t acceptable.

  5. The “we can’t charge him with a crime because he is president” thing needs to end. Trump needs to spend the rest of his life is prison.

    1. @Gary Schooley Knowing the Senate will NEVER cooperate with the despicable dems is enough for me to keep breathing in all that winning…bwahaha. Trump is getting acquitted and then re-elected.

    2. The satanic globalists are dividing the right and left to create a civil war and to destroy America! Don’t fall for it! Throw george soros and the rest of them in prison for what they are doing!

    1. @call me Ishmael I have no idea what your talking about, you’re completely incoherent. I suggest that you increase your dosage of Prozac.

    2. Before Trump could get to the so called swamp in DC, the real swampy water was already collecting before he was elected. It’s how he “won!” Lol

  6. “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.”

    ― George Orwell

    1. @miapdx You are right, Orwell detested manipulative language in the name of ANY cause, including his own.
Orwell does not belong in this forum, unless one is trying to mock him.

    2. @Sebastian Sz Fool. YOU just made Orwell or Socialism SOUND GOOD. His quote was great and truthful. If you did NOT ATTACH the fact that he was a socialist. you might not have done so much harm to capitalism or democracy. Sooo. finding truth is bad? Drifting away from truth is good? because you said or implied THAT ANYTHING Orwell says is bad because of his LABEL….that’s right…his limiting LABEL that you YOU put there. But he said something truthful. But he is a socialist? SO WHICH IS IT? Is he telling the truth or is he disqualified from getting honor because of his LABEL? PROVE TO ME SEBASTIAN that you are not a Troll or BOT account. I will start the research now on your account, okay?

    3. @the wiz – those chainlink contraptions they lock refugee children in at the border, are much closer to a cage in your average zoo, than any jail or holding cell I’ve ever seen or occupied! And that’s just the simple truth. Might wanna find a better example to argue your point!
