16-year-old Ralph Yarl was shot twice when he rang the wrong doorbell trying to pick up his little brothers. 84-year-old Andrew Lester pleaded not guilty to the shooting. Klint Ludwig, Lester's grandson, speaks to CNN's Don Lemon about the incident. #CNN #News #shorts
This youngman spoke eloquently about this topic. Grandfather could take a lesson from his grandson
@Clifton That black man has a violent history. He’s accused of assaulting his gf with a small sledgehammer. If she’s white, he doesn’t hate all white people. If she’d black, he’s a simply a dangerous violent man.
If Grandpa has a history of violence, we can address alternative motives. The grandson didn’t mention his grandpa being a violent criminal
You gotta play out the info you have, not just use shallow arguements to see things how you want. I have no dog in this fight. I just use ALL relevant data to form my opinions.
Good reason to take Fox off the Air.
Brave of the Grandson.
@Keonte Eason It doesn’t make you a racist. However, a lot of racists love watching FOX, and I’m going to share a sad truth with you. These white conservatives and far right wingers may “accept” you when they realize which side you’re on, but they honestly think less of you before they know you just for the color of your skin. I know because I myself come from a white conservative family. The things I remember hearing them say throughout my life and their reactions when I had my black girlfriend and then marrying her made it very uneasy with my family. It’s all fine now…I guess because she is very much a conservative minded person as well, but the things I can remember from my childhood is still uncomfortable for me.
@thegreatandini1 You think men get pregnant
@vigor What lies?
@atlsarmond And CNN and the Nick Sandman case? We can do this all day.
How candid, courageous and wise. God bless him and Ralph, so he can entirely recover and tell his story, so nobody ever forgets this tragedy, or so many tragedies due to racism in the US, and the world.
@frogmanvc The man shot a child in the head and shot him again after he ran. If I’m suspicious of someone at my door I just don’t open it, not open the door and shoot because the person’s black. That doorbell excuse is lame.
@Buster of Covid Deniers 😂😂😂You don’t even know what that means because you made the word up.
@frogmanvc Man was not defending himself. He just didn’t want a black person at his door.
@Glenda Clark what word kiddo?
@Glenda Clark ok, if only two shots fired then it is now questions of both lighting and timing. Open and shut case for you? Not hardly. Any witnesses or cameras???????
I love my grandfather man I feel this guy right now having to do this and talk about his grandfather in such a manner. I have no words I know this must be painful for this guy. It’s a shame that sometimes family members can be so radicalize.
What? you don’t do this to kin no matter what. The grandson well just look at his cornrows says it all?
@Lincoln Liking His grandfather did much worse. Slander is the least of his concerns.
Yall wild fr
This man’s a hero take a lot to call out ur own family and hold them accountable
That’s not a hero it’s just how you should be.
@thegreatandini1 in this day and age it’s rare tho, lets be honest and admit it.
Thank you young man for being brave and honest. I appreciate you for stepping up and speaking the truth about what’s happening in our world today
This is a REAL man speaking TRUTH right here.
Let’s break everyone into generations and then assign attributes so we can stereotype and generalise.
Kinda like how Andrew Lester assigned attributes so he could stereotype and generalize against Ralph Yarl
@Dominic DeShazo 🤡
He certainly looks REAL to me. How real does a human being has to be? 🤔
As someone who lives in eastern NC I can say the same bigoted racism in people, especially the ones who were in school during integration. If they were high school age it has been seemingly too difficult to view the change as necessary. My county was the highest per capita membership to the KKK in 1964, they just won’t give it up. Truly a disgusting view of where I live and the world around me
@Herb j no its a free country its time for the wackadoos to get whats coming.
@Herb j I have always thought about moving, went to one of the most inclusive liberal universities. University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, everyone was very accepting of others. After school I had to move back home for family issues, but now I have a wife and a son…relocating would hurt more to them so I try and put the best vibes out for equality and peace, inclusion and safe relations!!!
Hold old are you sir, if you don’t mind me asking.
@Mr. D I’m not sure what you mean in this message, don’t want to send a reply that only throws fuel on a fire
@Matthew Noble lol I am a Baby Boomer, just trying to understand your mindset. If you were around in the 60’s, then anything I say, you will understand, but if you are 30 yrs old, you may or may not have the same grasp of that time period in the South.
The fact that you asked for more information before replying would cause me to believe that I am dealing with an individual that possesses wisdom. So I am assuming that you are older, but that’s why I asked as well. lolol
The older you get the more you understand the detrimental effects of just making assumptions.
It was probably difficult for this young man to speak truthfully about his grandfather but he was brave enough to do so, I appreciate his efforts to bring more clarity to the horrible event. Sometimes love is none compliance or conformity when you see a wrong, speak up.
Good young man who is trying to be a good Human being. Good for him. We do need people like him.
Paid actor 😅
@Rick Jones How do YOU know?
This young man speaks truth. I’m sure he loves his grandfather and he’s truthful in his observations.
What truth?
@John James Hey John, My perception of truth may differ from yours so I’ll not argue the comment. Peace to you and all.
he hate the family duh
How would yiu even know if that’s the truth? Lol
What does he have to gain by lying? Nothing. Of he has heard his father being racist, then it’s the truth.
He definitely stepped up, and told the truth about his Grandfather.
he actually lied for some virtue points and insulted his own family
you people have no morals its insane to watch XD
It takes a real man to say what he just said. He spoke on the fact that fox’s news and some other networks are spreading this hate and negative views!!
I feel bad because I love and respect the Seniors.
I enjoyed going to nursing home and bringing cookies also. And listening to them make banter.
Black or white -I enjoyed. But even in the Home care Facility for the elderly-I’ve never experienced racism. And I’m black. From ANY white senior.
I hope this man learns something before he dies -because he may never get out (alive)if he goes to prison .
He’s up there in years!😮
@Dr. Tye Ukpong Lol how dare those news stations report news.
I have seen clips on YouTube of all 3. MSNBC is the only one that brings up race and says racially divisive rhetoric. I don’t actively subscribe to any of em.
Gee, fake is something that isn’t real. But he is a real person, he’s not a cartoon character.
He’s very honest about his grandfather which must be difficult to talk about. The grandson seems more balanced which gives me hope. Anyone who watches Fox news has a distorted brain. Sad but true.
The young people will tell the truth. Kudos to this young man!
What truth did he tell?
The one hopeful thing I take from this is that the grandson obviously thinks and feels differently than his grandfather about race. The cycle was broken somewhere along the way. I look to the younger generations to be better human beings in this respect.
Just because we love somebody that does not mean that we need to ignore their faults and see them as perfect.
He couldn’t name a single racist thing his grandfather did or said. He just mentioned that he watches Fox News all day, which means jack sh1t
@Clifton I never said anything about race. I just said that the dude isn’t perfect and his grandchild acknowledged that. Stop projecting.
Being honest does not take anything away from his love of his grandfather. This is an honorable man, which is rare today. His grandfather should be proud.
@mcoo465 no, I’m not. In todays world so many lie, which he easily could have done. We all know where you stand on honesty and honor. Sorry for you.
Why would your racist grandfather be proud of you for criticizing his racism? Does that even make sense? Anyway he has already said that his grandfather doesn’t have anything to do with him anymore. He said it was his grandfather’s choice. He also said he stands with Ralph’s Yarl’s family. So again, why would his grandfather be proud of him? Weird comment.
he did it for fame points
You are so right, friend. ✅️ We all have an opportunity to be better than those who came before, and I hope those who follow me will be better than my errors in this life.
Bless him for being honest and transparent
I live in the same school district Ralph attended. It is largely a white suburban school, but the students are far from racists. It’s the older generations that still judge people by the color of their skin. Ralph was a very well liked kid by the students and the teachers loved him. The whole situation makes me both sad and also mad. Prayers for a full recovery for him
Same here. The kids are so far from racists. My kids attend PCHS and all of their friends are of different races. It’s the older generation we have to worry about but luckily for us, I’ve met nothing but nice folks since moving up North.
Respect to the grandson for being honest, I know it wasn’t easy talking bout his grandpa
