As long as NIDS isn’t compulsory just like having an Electoral Registration Identification Card/Passport and it won’t be used to deny Jamaicans basic services like Education, Health Care, Justice etc. I won’t have any issue with it. I am not going to allow any government to force me to obtain anything by handing over data I don’t want to hand over. This won’t prevent crimes when the government has corrupted members at every level.
The CCP has used this as a political tool in China, it can be used for good too.
But when you lived in a country where the politics is corrupt, I would want to take the same position as you are taking.
From what I see technological use in our country is the worse. When I see the use of technology in an efficient and effective way then I will believe in this.
