Actually, vaccines also create herd-immunity. HI is the goal, the method for Donie is “not doing anything”. And that is the insane part.
And as Lola points out, we don’t even know if long-term immunity is a thing with covid-19, given reinfections are already happening. And with long term damage caused by the first infections, those who survive it, might very well be more vulnerable to a critical outcome in a second infection.
But oh boy, looking at the rightwing fkwits, they seem to think a desease doesn’t exist up until they personally die from it.

@Clayton Woodruff • New York State has reached the point where they can shutdown just blocks instead of a whole city or state. They also have developed a Bluetooth app, outside of the public health contact tracing programs. No location data is saved. You load the app and anyone who tests positive enters the result. That phone then notifies the other phones it’s been near so the phone owners can get tested.
