I can’t wait to see this come to fruition. I am very impress with this presentation. Way to go guys.
looks very good so far
Very exciting times ahead for Dominica’s future development.
Looks very promising. He was kind in saying ‘lifting the veil’; Roseau needs this! Real estate appreciation can also provide Dominicans with access to more capital to invest in new ventures. Let’s hope we can set a virtuous cycle in motion.
Despite the obvious need for these changes, we should still approach them in a disciplined manner: Control costs and use an open bidding process to get the best value for Dominicans’ tax dollars. Be mindful of our saline environment and not permit designs that will incur high maintenance costs, otherwise this will look just as tired in 10 more years. A big unseen need is change management; any such radical change requires a lot of thought and expertise to go into helping the people to adapt.
A couple points seem unclear to me. The sidewalks for the West Bridge at 1-1/2 feet (?) Did I mishear? That seems too narrow for such a visionary plan. And no mention of solar power in the lighting scheme. If we’re moving DA forward, let’s be sure to do it in areas that matter greatly for the future. Last but not least, how do we pay? Necessary as this is, if too much cost is laid on taxpayers and businesses at once, the pain may be too much.
To that end, the government should look at all options to make the return on that investment as attractive as possible for the taxpayers. Time for the Roseau Economic Development Office, staffed by our bright young Dominicans, to put their ideas to work to help offset the costs of doing this.
THIS IS 2016, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR ?,,,,,,,DOMINICA HAS ALOT OF CONCRETE,,,,,,SAND,,,,,,,,WATER,,,,,MAN POWER…….(.THE UPGRADE OF ROSEAU) YES,YES……….ONELOVE.
Well the new west bridge is now operational. looking forward to the other projects
Fwd 2018 I am waiting ???????
