And there’s a shortage of bike parts. Let’s hope shoe supplies don’t run low.
When you devalue the currency, it takes more dollars to buy the same goods. We need to stop printing money.
bitcoin solves this
I wish it was $1.95 a litre here
Team Trudeau did that !
Actually no, these price increases go well beyond the carbon tax. This is pure price gouging by big oil. They are reporting record profits this year.
@Squidward’s House$0.75 a litre in tax, so yah Trudeau did a lot of that
@Squidward’s House
Largely it is Putin to blame, but Trudeau and the other Greenies also contributed to the problem. If pipeline were built and more Canadian oil was on world markets prices wouldn’t be so high. Trudeau is definitely to blame for that.
isn’t this what they were trying to do? … “increase carbon taxes to discourage driving”
Canada has plenty of oil reserves – get rid of the Trudeau / Singh coalition
Ya think the oil should sell below world prices? Try to get that passed the shareholders. lolz.
Price will remain the same unless the rest of Canada gives Alberta a discount on everything they produce.
@roof pizza Investors in fossil fuels have trillions at stake. Their fortunes depend on the continuing expectation that they will be able to sell through the known reserves.
Don’t worry though. Government is offering a tax credit for those who can actually afford to drive anywhere far and stay in a hotel or lodge
I have no sympathy for BC. They continue to vote for parties that promote higher consumer costs.
There are only 2 parties in BC though.
So the carbon tax only added once cent per litre, hey?
Blame it on Russia! That one is only 100 years old now. Shows you don’t need to be innovative to fool the masses.
To help save a money and prepare for the uncertainty of the future, my family and I have started a small backyard garden. We’re learning how to homecan, seed save, make compost, and preserve what we grow. Every penny saved helps. Less than 2 years in our new home and we’ve completely transformed the backyard. We are beginner gardeners, growing and learning along the way. Recently I started a gardening channel to help encourage others to begin growing as well. No time better than now to learn self sufficiency.
Alberta will have a provincial surplus this year. We thank all you Liberal, NDP, Green voters.
It’s funny how everyone talks about Alberta oil being Canada’s oil but hydro and dairy is Quebec’s, manufacturing is Ontario’s, seafood is the Maritimes, etc.
Vote out liberals 😎🤘
So the excuse is the war in Ukraine ehh!! Ya right..Make the little guy pay and suffer while the big corporations and CEOs take in billions in profit. We need to put an end to this pattern.
Let’s not forget to thank Biden of course. As Canadians, knowing we must protect USA interest ……. It ashames me
its 2.20 here in bc, its the carbon tax
if you voted liberal…hope your happy..and not complaining..
What about Diesel being around 2.30 litre. That sucks
Love to hear the real reason this is our reality, when is enough enough? Perhaps blowing money like a drunken sailor has caught up…
