Not understanding or acknowledging the failure and ineptitude of government bureaucracies opens the door to political entrepreneurs who make a living creating dependency. The stock market went up and down between 29-32 before it bottomed out in 1932. This is just the beginning and will percolate up until it starts to effect the middle and upper middle classes.

Unfortunately, that may be true for a lot of them.. They will find out when the bill is due that was a wrong decision. If I remember correctly, the loan becomes a grant that doesn’t have to be paid back if you keep your workforce. Could be wrong, but that’s what I remember.
@dkhawkee Under PPP the loan covers 8 weeks of payroll and 75% of the loan has to be on payroll costs with the rest allocated to such things as mortgage interest or rent on the business location and utilities for it. If they don’t follow those guidelines it has to be paid back. Under EIDL they have it limited to $1,000 per employee up to 10 employees for the grant portion, as long as it is used for payroll. Anything else taken out gets paid back as well.
It’s not it is what it is, why succumb to it, always other options, to bail out.

Everyone in our company had their hours cut by 50%. However, less than 2 weeks later, we went back to our full amount of hours. It had to have been the loan incentive because our sales (which fell off a cliff on 03/13/2020) have not improved much.

Ok there’s a bit to unpack here.
A.) If the government tells businesses to shut down and then pays them to keep them from going under that isn’t a bailout. Bailouts occurs when the business was already failing and government saves them. The media and democrats generally don’t seem to know what bailouts are which is no surprise.
B.) Democrat’s are advocating for more spending because that’s what democrats do. Name me the last time democrats wanted to cut funding to something. They always advocate for more spending and as usual that spending comes from the tax payers and the national debt.
Be carful your morals don’t cost more than the paper you spend them on cuz your morals can only exist to the extent they can be payed for.
