Funding For Gun Violence Research Included In Federal Spending Deal | Velshi & Ruhle | MSNBC

    1. It is mostly a research into suicide with a gun. That is the largest part of the stats the gun idiots use to describe gun violence. They are lying by equating shootouts on the streets of Chicago with a woman shooting herself in the head because she does not have help for her mental illness.

  1. Stop and drop the gun and read this study! Better fund the 👮 law enforcement mission as well as good science. More transfers to poor states from the stingy feds! That is our money 2:43 she makes a good point. Bloomberg supports safety measures for privately held weapons while supporting the 2nd amendment to own a gun for hunting in rural areas or to protect your place and family. We have 500 million guns now. Support your local 👮 officials

  2. Remember when Obama was going to take away your guns, gun nutters? Guess you were wrong for eight years, scared little babies. “Oh, there’s a criminal around every corner trying to get me!”

    1. Doug E: Yeah man, and even though I voted for Obama twice, I think he pandered to the GOP way to much and they HATED him! I think some of these gun nuts need to have their guns taken away. I’m sick of hearing them whine. GOP stands for Guns over People.

    1. You aint taking our guns you commie Satanist , unless your lookin for a fight you can not win…….you better send bachelors if you want to take our 2nd amendment

    2. @Elkslayer I agree totally. As a person who had grown up around guns and hunting, I was excited to take the Hunter Safety course at 12 years old. I was taught the proper way to handle a firearm and the respect of never ever pointing even a completely empty barrel, even by itself, towards others. However, kids that I went to High School with, did not have any training or respect for firearms. Yet a couple of them were able to get a hold of their father’s gun and brought them to school to show off. They pointed the gun at other people without checking the chamber or even understanding the dangers of such actions. Still, some people would have you believe that if they can’t get to their gun immediately, they are vulnerable. To those, I would say; carry it around with you in a holster inside your house, if it makes you feel safe. But lock that firearm up when you leave home.

    3. @Don Rutter Where do you get this statistic from? If we are not allowed to study, where do you think your info comes from? We need to study where those urban guns, used in crimes, came from. Studying and research is not taking away your rights in any way.

  3. Since the dimatwats are so fond of the Constitution lately I’m sure the 1st and 2nd amendments are sacrosanct to them.
    Said no one ever! Lol

  4. Google the Dickey Amendment to find out why we didn’t have any government funding for gun research for the past 23 years.

    1. Thank you I was not aware of this:
The amendment was lobbied for by the National Rifle Association
The amendment is named after its author Jay Dickey, a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Arkansas

1996 United States federal government omnibus spending bill which mandated that “none of the funds made available for injury prevention and control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) may be used to advocate or promote gun control.”
the Dickey Amendment’s vagueness has since blocked the CDC from funding studies on gun violence, for fear that the CDC would be financially penalized; as a result, the amendment is sometimes referred to as a ban on CDC-funded gun research.

  5. Can people carry concealed weapons to trump rallies or is trump against it. He must be against open carry because I’ve never seen anyone at his rallies with weapons.

  6. There is a reason all shootings are done in gun restricted areas. If the shooters knew there where others in the area with guns there would not be shootings.

  7. $25 mil for a ‘review’ on gun violence? haha, what a joke, give me a check for 1/10th of that amount and I’ll have the full report on your desk by tomorrow morning… (as if we need research done one research that already exists) what a stall.

  8. Have they changed the existing laws that Congress passed some years ago Preventing the CDC from studying gun violence?
If not; where is this new 25mill going to?

  9. Keep it simple. New Zealand has banned military type weapons after just one shooting. Weapons found are destroyed. Simple!

    1. Margaret, they need to take everyone’s AR-15, AK-47 and M16 away here in the USA. I was born here in Texas 55 years ago and I have seen way too many of these gun toting idiots! As a ham radio operator, I know a LOT of old codgers in their 70’s and 80’s who open carry and brag about it. I think they are dangerous.

  10. $25M split between 50 states? over how many years? setting up the data collection infrastructure will cost at least half of that, which leaves $250,000 per state… or wages for 1 person for five years, or wages for 5 people for 1 year, per state… of course that’s all theory since President Asterisk hasn’t signed it yet, if he ever will…
