  1. But there’s a Lawyer who has drug convictions and he’s active.

    Two different Jamaica… 😎😎🙄😏

  2. He could get a second chance he seem to be doing better for himself i feel sorry for him h seem to be a good kid people make mistakes

  3. Definately should be Given a chance…. we all do wrongs in our life, because we haven’t been caught. Someone please employ him, Someone…. people have grown.

  4. I think he should be given a chance since he’s trying to move on. Also, the fact that he put that he was previously convicted, the onus would be on the emoloyer to do the necessary checks to get more info regarding same. And the fact that he was doing a good job i think he should be given a chance to move on with his life. We all have or will have a history of doing something bad at one point or the other smh

    1. Cosmic rising sis sadly to say there’s no feature for our young ppl in Jamaica damn if they do and damn if they don’t. We’ll never forgive our own ppl, but we’ll forgive our enemies. Things will never change unless our brothers and sisters come together and put away these ppl that are in power. Can’t keep going to the polling stations voting for the same old crap smh

  5. Give the man a chance!!!!! None violent crime! He has stayed out of trouble! Stop keep punishing people.

  6. What about second chance. As someone mentioned there is a lawyer in Jamaica who has more than one criminal charges. He was given a second chance. I hope some who sees this give him a job. You ask people to not return to crimes, but he does what is asked of him and this is what he gets. Maybe that judge should go seek out those corrupt lawyers and judges in Jamaica and expose them.

    1. Maybe that judge would end up being exposed. Everything is for a matter of time. I hope and pray this young man get something to do asap

  7. Give the young man a chance, if only night should become day then we would all see the amount of criminals that is sitting in high places, the bible say blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy🙏

  8. While there are some merits to sighting safety issues as point for termination, it seems that we have condemned individuals with a criminal pass to under/unemployment. There is an increase risk of committing a crime or reoffending with unemployment and poverty. If aim of the penal system is truly to reform offenders then they failed their aim and this young man. This young man seems to show sincere remorse and should be given his job back.

  9. This is his second chance, in time he will be able to look back at this and give thanks. The level of corruption that our judicial system functions in makes me wonder who works there that isn’t complicit.

At least his story is drawing our attention to it.

  10. This clearly explains why Jamaica has such a high rate of repeat offenders. The fact the young man did not receive a custodial sentence is an indication that the crime committed wasn’t a grave one. He served his probation and has tried to move on with his life and the same justice system that he was employed to has served him the greatest injustice.

    1. Omg! This young man has moved on from his past and it’s like it still follows him around like an unwanted tail. He has forgiven himself and yet they haven’t forgiven him. He is continually being punished for something that seems to no longer defines who he is. Wow! Just wow!

  11. So couldn’t his records be expunged?
I don’t understand this, will he continue to pay for his mistakes?. What about second choice? This is wrong so wrong, he has made a change to better his life.

  12. Not having a criminal record doesn’t mean that you’re good. Criminals are out there without a record. It was larceny, he didn’t rob or kill anyone, and if so, what about rehabilitation?
Will he be shun for the rest of his life?

    1. Same thing am wondering. These are some of the reasons why some people go back to their old ways because they change their life and still face rejection.

  13. A conviction should not determine your future. What message are they sending when they fire him? This can lead him right back , so sad.

    1. exactly, then what does the rehabilitation program for? to taunt you about previous experience and create blockage plus unemployment for you. kmt

  14. That reporter comes as overly insensitive to the man’s predicament could have got the same information without putting him on trial again. The young man was equally right to give that just amount of information. Handled badly by the system. if justice could not be administered at that level where else. Hopes he get another job.

  15. THE FACT THAT HE HIGHLIGHTED HIS CONVICTION IT WAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYER TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER.

IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE WORD “PROBATION ” FOR A SPECIFIC TIME
HAS A DIFFERENT MEANING IN THE DICTIONARY THAN THAT OF THOSE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE TERMINATION OF THIS EMPLOYEE.

THOUSANDS WAS SPENT ON THAT LOCKS CASE; WHICH RESULTED IN PAYOUT FOR THAT DEFENDANTS

IT’S UNFORTUNATE THAT THIS SITUATION IS NOT PREVI TO QUALIFIED REPRESENTATION.

ONLY IN JAMAICA 🇯🇲. THIS COULD HAPPEN.
    I FIND IT “EXTREMELY” UNFORTUNATE.
