“…not likely to be very friendly witnesses to Donald Trump…”. I’d bet you’d be hard pressed to find a friendly witness for Donald Trump who would speak under oath. 🤣
You got that right. It’s UNBELIEVABLE that Adam Schiff and his committees fail to put him away every time.
@Jefryt 67 Patience. This is probably the most frustrating part of any endeavour – when you have achieved 85% of the information and you need another 5% -10% to reach the point where a jury can find beyond reasonable doubt that a person is guilty.
For example, parts of Cassidy’s testimony which is hearsay is not admissible in court.
There are at least 3 charges:
1/ treason – plotting a coup.
2/ manslaughter for deliberately refusing to order in the National Guard to help the Capitol Guard when repeatedly asked. He could see on TV that people were being hurt.
There may even be some type of other crimes for watching the Capitol Guards taking place on TV and refusing to order the National Guard to help for MORE THAN 3 HOURS!!!!!! 3 HOURS.
@lam dao none of this is going to a real trial.
Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment gives Congress the power to disqualify someone who has already held a public office from holding “any office” if they participate in an “insurrection or rebellion” against the United States. And to be clear orchestrating is a few steps above participating.
@jbt PA They do that to every single post and CNN is the only place it happens. It’s annoying.
@LotWizzard <— well known troll.
All of these witnesses need around the clock security. 💯
Hope they’re all safe. 💯
@sean bragg no y’all are crazy. That’s why they need protection.
@John Hamilton nutcase alert!
@John Hamilton Trump is going to prison clown
Can’t believe how a President who did nothing for three hours to stop an attack on The Capitol is allowed to run again if he so chooses, guilty or not guilty. Some Constitution 🥴
@Ricky Moser stop it. You’re embarrassing yourself
at this point, since he cannot be impeqched, and Garlands DOj seems reluctant to hold Trump accountable to the law, the house or senate need to draft a resolution that prohibits him from holding office again due to the fact that he has disqualified himself because of ‘dereliction of duty.’
@Rebel Mouth when are you going to talk to me
@Rebel Mouth Says the paid Russian troll.
Why aren’t the Secret Service agents who claim to dispute Ms. Hutchinson’s story not stepping up to testify under oath?
When the recover the texts, that will tell us all we need to know.
“S” asks: “Why aren’t the Secret Service agents who claim to dispute Ms. Hutchinson’s story not stepping up to testify under oath?” Easy question. They are not stepping up to testify under oath, because they know lying under oath is felony they can be imprisoned for.
But but but he hoped for it! They were proving their devotion. That was what he wanted. He reveled in it.
He probably thought, it’s working I will be president when this is over.
Everything aside, I cannot think of ANY rational or legitimate reason how 3+ hours could go by with the high level of violence, destruction, injuries, and death going on and the President of our nation did nothing to stop it over those many hours.
Complicity or Personal Benefit is the ONLY conclusion I arrive at which makes sense of such inaction and Insanity by the President.
Long Live Democracy! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’m an Independent but after Trump’s Insurrection Against America there’s no way I can even consider voting Republican for another 20 years.
@john alsop Thank you, John. You’re a true American patriot.
Matthew Pottinger?
I heard about him when he warned the USA and was essentially ignored about the COVID threat years ago.
Yes I will watch that session on Friday morning here hopefully.
@Rhys Rautjoki thanks, we have time zones that make it difficult to figure out local times. With the internet can you see it earlier?
@Randall Laue only if you have a time machine…
Ginger H.: 8pm E. Coast USA? = 5pm W. Coast
@Ginger Hickerson I know. I almost wish they never end.
@Tentin Quarantino fake name fake person fake post.
More people need to come forward. Bring it all out!
I totally agree with you
Justice in Kleptocracies still carries her sword, but her scales are tipped and her blindfold has slipped. Tom Burgis – Kleptopia .
What baffles me is why so many of these people testifying about trumps craziness and law breaking are still willing to vote for him again in 2024.
The dark side has it’s charm.
They attached their egos to a malignant narcissist with sadism.
Social capital for those who have no economic capital.
When will the members of Congress that conspired to overturn a legitimately elected government be held responsible? Hawley, Boebert, Cruz, come immediately to mind. When will that be addressed?
@Julie B this is hilarious, I’m never calling Margy B by her real name again
When it happens chris lol
@Bravosmom1 I don’t see any mention of hanging.
I love this. The more testifying by those inner circle of people the better. But really, if Garland doesn’t make him responsible or hold him accountable, what good is any of it?
I don’t have a lot of confidence in A.G. Garland.
Good things take time. Meanwhile, The gop has lost 6 or 7 points , circling the drain.
“I never heard of Matthew Pottinger, he was just a coffee boy”. “He wanted to go to Mar a Lago with me, but I said he was a bad person and I didn’t want him” < Donald Trump. (the fuggin liar)
Deja- Vu, it was after Nixon`s White House counsel testified that witnesses started coming forward, it was July when his guilt became obvious, and he was gone in August, let`s hope the pattern holds true.
The fact that all of these people who were fairly high up in the chain of command waited this long to come forward only means they’ve been fearful of the aftermath from Trump, his base and and his circle of vicious and vindictive enablers.
Sure.
It’s over.
100% on the mark.
@Michael Tyler And lock all his enablers up too like Roger Stone, Mark Meadows, Peter Navarro, etc.
How many White House officials and Cabinet members said, “I’m outta here!” after Jan. 6th coup attempt? They saw it up close.
@Russell’s House I see things can get quite dopey in Russell’s House.
@bwanna23yes they can! 😀
Even though Mathew Pottinger worked in a high ranking capacity under TFG, he certainly showed his integrity when he saw what was happening and that tweet, by resigning on the spot. Will be very interesting to hear what he has to say. Sarah Mathews should bring an interesting perspective as well
I do hope there will be more hearings up coming, describing the interactions of the “allies in congress” as well.
