  1. The problem with Ontario government is that their leader is illiterate he doesn’t know everything about study marijuana smoker

  2. What happened to putting Canadians first? Ford supporters love to shout out Canada first. Yet pull support from Canadians any chance they get.

    1. @Guy Souriandt It’s possible. However, it’s also possible that it could provide many advantages at a fraction of the cost and improve education in ways that schools could not replicate.

It may even be superior if done right. There would probably be higher retention of knowledge because of the flexibility that a normal school year can’t provide. Removes the anxiety of failure during testing, if you do poorly you can go back, study and re-take the test til you prove you have retained the material being taught. It would be a better system for the individual student, preventing some from being left behind and giving the opportunity for others to excel at their own pace.

There’s a lot of other obvious benefits that comes along with technology and programming. It may also present a benefit to the kids themselvs and produce more independent youth. No one holds your hand in real life and there’s alot of coddling going on in our education system.

It’s worth trying anyways, our system is becoming out of date and becoming a relic of times without superior techology.

    2. There’s too much coddling going on in our education system but also the proposed benefits of the new system you endorse includes further coddling by reducing anxiety. You know what else reduces anxiety having a real physical teacher help you understand topics in ways that aren’t hard coded because everyone has a different way they learn.

Also all the E-Learning companies are foreign based so that money is given to another country. I’d rather pay Canadians to teach Canadians.

    1. @B Overworked? hahah I nearly fell out of my seat, they rarely even have to get out of their chair you don’t know the meaning of “overworked” example…single mother working three jobs trying to feed her family not teachers.

  3. As much as I commend the government for doing the right thing as far as class sizes and e-learning, let’s also not lose sight of the fact that this concession was announced at a press conference, not from the bargaining table. Leece is a true politician, too scared to even face the unions in person before conceding. Well done teachers for holding this government accountable.

    1. Firing every union teacher in Ontario would be the right thing.

Doug was already being too soft and now he’s even softer.

    2. @Joe Frazer Teachers provide a valuable and selfless public service. They deserve the compensation they get. How about we get rid of lazy politicians who are underqualified for their portfolios and are just in it for the money?? I’ll take the teachers any day.

    1. @B Introduce Right to Work legislation including the public sector.

Then refuse to negotiate with the union and hire replacements.

  4. The low number of classes is due to the fact that many uneducated peapole in e- learning are the future because knowledge is getting to everyone! Just an example of what peapole would know about coronavirus today if were taught only at school classes?

  5. Now will teachers take the 1%? The Union all along has been saying this was all for the kids…well the class sizes and e-courses are off the table now.

  6. Ultimatums don’t work. Get back to the table yourself and work out a deal that works for everybody. You were elected to lead not rule.

  7. I don’t blame the teachers. Their union are extortion experts and don’t care about anyone but themselves

  8. I support resource teachers and/or special education teachers with knowledge American sign language (ASL). There’s no way that students with low functioning learning online course.
