Should of arrested them on the spot and Take away Qualified immunity to cops is a good start
That should be a demand moving forward.
@Balls Isstraightupthic No one thinks that, but cutting someone’s air off for 9 minutes does look very bad. Especially when caught on camera.
Exactly in the eyes of the public just like they murdered George in view of the public their screams to release his knee went unheard that pig wanted to show his authority and the other 3 accomplishers no mercy
@Balls Isstraightupthic no if they kill an innocent man with evidence of them doing so they should get arrested . maybe not charged till that is proven sure but they were protecting them and still are. why are you defending a murderer? we can all agree violent protests are bad but common dawg these people would not be taking advantage of the situation if they did their job in the first place.
Balls Isstraightupthic no not automatically guilty, but qualified immunity basically makes them “automatically innocent.” The argument is that is to balance out their privileges with responsibility and culpability to the people.
The chief’s response was all well and good, but let’s not make this about how cordial he was. This is about the constant murder of black people by law enforcement.
It’s not about how cordial he has been, rather the fact that the we finally have a Chief of Police that is on our side.
You can’t blame what all those ‘bad’ police officers have done on this police chef given his record and swift action. What a lot of people don’t understand is how these police unions have used qualified immunity to cover up the sins of it’s members. I’m not anti union; that is, unless unions act like organized criminals act. In the case of qualified immunity, police unions have turned into organized criminal cartels. It’s now up to the politicians to finally do away with qualified immunity.
Good god man didn’t you see him take off his hat!!!! I’m not sure why that matters though.
He is not on our side at all. He is just saying what he thinks will calm people down. This will start happening again the second the protests stop.
Thank you.
They’re trying their hardest to pretty this up.. Again!!
The guy had complaints?!?!? And he was still in service????
Edit: “service”
@Loralieisa M They better be or our society has the responsibility to protest.
@B.K.R. Doggielover And murdered as well…
Best edit on YouTube.
the chief knew about the complaints and did nothing. He is just as guilty as chauvin. who is accountable?
@robgvm That’s what I been trying to tell people, this goes higher than the police.
“If they had enough evidence to fire them, they had enough to arrest them” Brother Floyd
Facts! Facts!
Facts, if they had enough evidence to fire them, they should have enough evidence to arrest them, and that was the question which was not answered by this bald headed chief when Floyd’s brother asked the question through that reporter..
@Black Minoan facts
Iman Trek sadly that’s not always true. You can fire someone for making an obscene joke but not criminally charge them. You also have to remember they’re going to try and pack that jury with a bunch of white, police sympathizing( racist) jurors.
Black Minoan yes this bald headed chief just like pope defend pedophiles – in a deaf ears and let it continue. Typical fake courtesy!
“To be silent is to be complacent” America can you Hear!!!!

t-shirt ideas
It brought me to tears, and to hear the chief say those words were mighty. The pain is REAL.
Chauvin was taken away for his own safety.

Good point.
America stands with the Floyd family we send our prayers we stand together to NEVER LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN
Show us the video of Mr Chauvin and his 3 colleagues handcuffed and arrested
I need to see that image.
When I see the chief of each department takes the choice of changing department regulations on how the officers hold and deal with ALL suspects. As a nurse I can tell all we don’t have ten cops standing there waiting to help with out patients that are addicts or suffering mental illness, we don’t have tazers nor are we taught hand to hand combat in restraining anyone and we get it done safely and without harm and death being the outcome of patient or staff. There are better, educated ways of restraint and holds to be used without violence.
Why are the other officer that were kneeling on him not arrested? Wtf
They trying to pull a fast one! FT!
I just wanna let everyone know that we would not be here if it wasn’t on video. Most likely would’ve been swept under the rug if there wasn’t footage
what about the lies the police made on their report. how many more lies have they told on other reports?
im GLAD many more people seem to be talking about this but ur right
i dont understand how people will hurt other people because of something they cant control like whats the fucking point
comment deserve 42,000 likes and more
Basically..the Chief spoke out, by showing up there, in uniform, taking his hat off, and telling it like it is, shows not all are the same.
Because he is responsible for those officers , they were under his command. He should lose his job as well. They did this in broad daylight, just imagine what they would do in the dark. Give the gang members uniforms and let them police , no difference except we don’t pay them.
Sadly, he is a good cop and a good man. I live here in Minnesota. But he’s pretty new to the role, and he himself is over powered by the police union, led by Bob Kroll. Lt. Kroll trains officers on his spare time on how to choke people and he’s a huge ally of Trump and the Republicans here in Minnesota. He has a LOT of power, and in many ways runs the police department more-so than all the chiefs Minneapolis has had.
Drew u sound pope defend his pedophile priest.
Looks can be deceiving.
@Drew He wear those shoes, they pay him that salary.
He’s to blame…its the higher power we need to change…domino effect.
” Mr. Floyd died in our hands. ”
C O R R E C T I O N >>>
YOU MURDERED HIM
For real.. “died in our hands” sounds like they we’re actually trying to keep him safe
I don’ think I’ve ever been so sad, so tired, or so sick and tired.
Military Spouse 101 this is the only death that made me cry like a child and I am still sad about how it went down😭😭😭😭😭😭

Social distance if you sick fam!!
Military Spouse 101 Same! I feel the same way you do. 💯

I just want to state the obvious that not all cops are bad. Unions are supposed to take care of their people. And I agree that sometimes that means cops get off or get a lighter sentence. But I also say unions aren’t “the problem. Far more often than not unions are protecting officers for good reasons. I think we can all agree that out of the 8 million crimes committed each year cops are very often in the right and the protection and people going into the field need to know that they have some protection as well. Otherwise we won’t have officers and people to do the dirty work. With that being said it is the unions obligation to defend this cop much like a lawyer would. And although we all hate lawyers we understand the need for them and there is a good need for the police union As well. Let’s not make the situation worse by giving idiots ammo when we say cops are bad, unions are bad and just protect bad cops. All these exaggerated hyperbolic statements only give the idiots rifle ammo to say those things are wrong. We want to be is right about as many things as possible.
@mark bloc No, the Chief is a good man. Where at least some of the blame is with the President of the Police Federation. He is a racist and believes in Warrior mentality and has authorized that type of training even after be “asked by the former Mayor to stop that specific training.
I was reading about felony murder. Which we have in 46 states. That if a felony is committed. Which Floyd being killed was a felony. Then everyone who was with the person who murdered during the felony would all be charged with the murder. I would like to hear any opinions. Because i do not know to much about laws. But came across this. I actually know a young man 16. He was with 2 others 17 and 25. One of them murdered a taxi driver. And all were charged with the felony murder even though only one pulled the trigger.
@Ryan McNeil You’re right, I was’t trying to say we should get rid of them, but rather fix the issue within them.
It’s not going to be 1st degree unless there’s evidence that it was premeditated
This tragedy seems straight out of Childish Gambino’s musical art. This truly is America. I’ve been walking around in a shock for weeks now.
Life imitates art i mean, i think i said inmates by mistake.
FYI, the United States is of America not itself America.

@Aiyanna Boykins You typed “imitates” correctly; though I think it’s the other way around. Also, you know you can edit comments, right? 🤔
kombucha! thats what bugs you? not someone being murdered?
Nuestra América OHHH it matters
Journalist did a good job in relaying the message there. The police chief was a clear as he could possibly be. I wish the D.A’s office would prosecute the other officers cause as he said it silence is complicity and that resulted in this man’s death
I have tears in my eyes listening to this
