In Arizona Governor Doug Ducey did something related to this, when he told Arizona State University and The University of Arizona to stop providing projection models of deaths and new cases of the Corona virus. ASU went ahead and did it anyway, to date don’t know what the UofA decided. These are times for courageous acts of patriotism, thank you ASU for continuing to do whats best for Arizonans. The projections have been repeatedly wrong, to a staggering degree, and always in the same direction. Drastically overestimating. That, along with daily case counts, leads to unjustified public panic.
I think we should always have more raw data, not less, but there’s clearly an agenda (prolonged lockdown) behind many of these objectively crappy prediction models
@bidmcms3 one could argue the lack of testing is clearly an agenda and they would be right.

You might think that’s an argument to ramp up testing but you’d be dead wrong. His logic is if we don’t test for it we can’t say they have it and everything is good.
My state use to show the death numbers when it was low now that its on the higher end the changed it u will have to total it all up now b4 u didn’t. .smh

They will change eventually, when they split “died from” and “died with”.
That’s a complex issue. If you die of pneumonia that was caused from covid-19, but the cause of death was actually pneumonia, did you die from or with? That might be more straightforward, but what about blood clots now. They’re finding people in their 30s and 40s are having strokes from blood clots caused by covid-19. When someone has a stroke and also covid-19, what do you put? What about septic shock or liver or kidney failure or the numerous other complications that can develop?

If it wasn’t rhetorical then the answer to the question is, he is angry with China for covering up the virus which they knew at minimum made a human I’ll on Dec 10, much earlier than they reported it to the world. On Jan 15 the WHO was still reporting parroting China’s claims that it couldn’t be transmitted to humans. In the middle of that window thousands of flights went out of China internationally. That is a major problem. We are in the middle of a world-wide recession with a lot of human casualties because China failed to be transparent with the world during its onset.
Sorry ill not I’ll darn autocorrect. In any case, part of the insanity was that China knew about the first deaths prior to the WHO tweeting that it couldn’t be transmitted. Correction on that WHO tweet…it was Jan 14 not Jan 15.

I thought something must have happened to that data. Watching it for a while, it seemed to suspiciously suddenly shift for the better without any reason… Like when NY said they were on the decline w/cases, suddenly the FL data showed a decline as well when it was on the rise.
