The fact is Pinellas county, despite record cases in the state will leave it’s beaches open for July 4th weekend. The fact is the median age of infection 35. The fact is if the local and state officials treated this pandemic as a pandemic they might have been able to flatten the curve.

@Terrell Robinson The premature opening may have contributed, but I’m sure the majority of the new cases are a result of the protests. The Governor is choosing not to be a dictator by allowing their citizens to decide whether or not they should wear a mask (I personally would but whether you want to wear a mask is up to you). Wow how dare people go out and enjoy themselves over 4th of July weekend! How dare people have fun! The fact is people ages 30-39 have a very low chance (around 8%) of getting hospitalized, and even less chance of dying. The fact is the coronavirus hasn’t been as bad as once thought and has turned out to be more like the flu. At some point we need to get back to living our lives, we should be cautious and continue to social distance, yes, but we shouldn’t be going back into lockdown again.
